landman is beside the wife and daughter thing not bad ,little glimpse into that industry .
the numbers and comparings in the very first scene were some eye opener to me ....i mean i actually new it but some totally different if somebody smacks it in your face from a-z , literally

I liked it better than the rest of the horror gunk I've watched recently. If minimal movies aren't for you, then this'll be a waste of time. It's a small stage play with production values to match. No jump scares, but unsettlingly atmospheric & suspenseful, a vibe-movie as the kids say.

I felt it lacked sufficient sex and vioience, but I did enjoy the music. I was hoping for a Clockwork Orange with a lennon-McCartney soundtrak, but we takes what we can gets these days...

it was all good, the early stuff, the middle stuff, the late stuff. At least they changed over time and technology. Its truly impressive, for a relatively brief career, they still hold a bit of the limelight and managed to make an impressive catalog. All because John saw an Elvis newsreel or movie with his auntie (who was really his mum).. he was an impressionable youth, who knows...

a normal childhood and he maybe would have grown up to be a mediocre painter somewhere. our loss then really if it all never happened.

 

Japanese 2016, sub titles only, worth the effort a very good movie...

watched this last night....
it was for me a bit dated, oversaturated colours, flying martial arts, lots of visual beauty, skimpy plot. It felt like it was written for peasants, it was basically worship of the emperor, politically correct to be made with the approval of the authorities to grant access to the forbidden city etc.

its not a bad movie, I've sat through much worse, but there are much better Chinese movies out there. it just didn't deliver much other than dramatic cliches for me anyhow. It was pretty until the oversaturation went on and on. entire scenes of red without a single contrasting colour - thats good for about 30 seconds not 7 minutes.

Try "SHOWER", 1999, its a pretty good movie, a smaller more interesting story told well.
