I'm doing the Macarena on Facebook Live in 5 minutes.

I want to point out that First Choice was released in 1977 BUT the version you posted is the 1983 remix by Shep Pettibone for Mastermix Productions. The You Tube poster failed to acknowledge that, and used the wrong album image for the video. This is the right image for the song you posted



The B side was the remix by Frankie Knuckles

The first time I met Paul Rutherford, it was at a rehearsal for a band called The Spitfire Boys, notable only because they had Souxsie and the Banshees drummer (and later Souxsie's husband), Budgie, on drums.

He flounced into the room and announced that he'd just earned a fiver (about £30 at todays rates) for sucking a guy off in the cottages on 'Puffin Island'. That was kind of shocking in provincial Liverpool back in 1977.

I also met Holly Johnston multiple times (once at his flat opposite Liverpool Cathedral) but he was never as memorable as Rutherford.

 

Yeah, Love Sensation and Let No Man Put Asunder belong on my top ten tracks regardless of era or genre. They were dominated the soundtrack to some of the best moments of my life.

 

@BEAT16 Alice pr Elisa may have been released in the 80's but if you were a club DJ and played it, you would lose your job right away.
