Old school vibes playlist -early early 80’s- (Not even an Italo disco song included)

    Bernard Wright - Haboglabotribin (1981)
Superfunk + jazz: a great album. This song now has a second youth as it is included in the GTA-V soundtrack

Active Force - Give Me Your Love (1983)
    A club hit

    Material - I’m the One (1982)

Bill Laswell, Nile Rodgers: what do you want more?

    Captain Sensible - Wot (1982)
I can feel the punk roots in his performance. The song worked on the dancefloor and was also strong with the airplays

    T. Ski Valley - Catch The Beat (1982)
When rap was synonymous with good vibes party. One of the most sampled intros in the years to follow.

    Skyy - High
The Salsoul sound at its best

King Tim III - Charley Says (1980)

It worked very well in the club. Unfortunately I don't know who the producer is

    Note:
This was my original playlist for the club opening (in the exact order of appearence)

    Bonus track (out of playlist):

Billy Frazier & Friends - Billy Who? (1980)
    This is a cult classic

Not italian at all now, the language you hear is swissgerman-dialect (spoken language in "germanspeaking" parts of switzerland), "Nüt" means "Nothing", and he advices the listeners (hi fans) to turn it off (stelled ab, stelled ab, stelled ab), because there is happening nothing AT ALL (phonetic : "es passiert (happens) eifach nüt" (simply nothing))

and the more worse : min guete Rat (my good advice) [to turn it off], nützt nüt (is (helps) for nothing)
the intro is about : "lovely / beloved people ("liebi Lüüt"), sorry that i have to dissapoint you", and so on : n ü t / de nada

PS. it was even charted in top 20 in tha cheesy chocolate homecountry (boah : CROSSover) :)

I have always had a fondness for Jarre, I managed to get invited to his 40th birthday party back in the tail end of the 80s. I have great memories of that night in Brussels, most of it anyway.

Zoolook was a strange one, it managed to get get turned in to a computer game called Captain Blood

20+ mofo pages! You're all bastards and I hate u!
I was the first one to rate and Love this thread when you posted it.
The reason I have stayed away is because this era is so special to me.
But this was almost an unforgiveable situation!
Thank you for at least balancing it out. A little. lol. x

At least I know my 4 pages of Prince tracks coming up will pale into insignificance now amongst over 20 pages.

I wasn't there in the 50's: the first time I heard Mr Sandman was on "Back to the future" soundtrack (1985) so, for me this song counts as 80's music

With the success of freestyle female groups from Miami like Expose, Company B, and Sequel, several New york City producers decided to jump on the band wagon with their own. one the most notable were The Cover Girls whose producer, Andy Panda, have had some earlier success with Nayobe's "Don't Go"

I first heard it in the 70s.
It counts as a 50s song.

Swiss Classics, one more : 1981 - Stephan Eicher sings in german-german (not swiss dialect) (later he became a big Star in France till today, because he also is french-speaking, as usual in western part of the cheese&chocolate country)

that Club Roxy was a legendary club in 80's Zürich (like Flamingo)
Haha, cool associations : Spliff is a german Band, that sings in german-german (hochdeutsch), which is the written (but not the spoken) language in switzerland too.

Joe Sweet [italiano : dolce), is still funny too :)

Ah, the eighties, again we meet.

This tune came on random and it's still fantastic:

    Material - Secret Life

Admittedly I did not get into this in the eighties, but rather way later when I traced the trajectory of Laswell backwards.

Just look up what these guys (Laswell, Beinhorn and Maher) got up to later on. But regardless, the Temporary Music EPs or the compilation LP (which is what I got) are pure brilliance, from filthy industro-funk to weird disco (like this).

Can someone post spotify or youtube playlist for these songs? By one by clicking is too painful.
