I remember that the following had some criticism (as usual) for integral nude in videoclip, but still is an awesome song:

I think PSB are underrated. Sure they made some smashing hit songs, but that's zero reason to pan them.

If you listen to their albums the production is par none.

I just totally dig any post with FGTH. I could write ten pages about how Welcome To The Pleasure Dome, is probably one of the 10 best AND most important albums of the 80s, regardless genre. The super genious production of Trevor Horn along with the "Frankies" created a masterpiece, a predecessor of many things that came much later. Progressive House being one of them for instance. This is one of those records where there is no filler song, a concept album with so many ground breaking ideas which evidently all come to fruition in just one double LP.
This album throws away the genre "distinction", ever so cleverly blending all of them into a wall of sound, impressively huge and incredibly detailed at the same time. All sounds existing in there, even the tiniest bit, are meticulously sculpted to sound unique. Aspiring young producers should pay close attention to what was done in the "Welcome To The Pleasure Dome" album, as it is truly the amalgamation of everything exciting about music.

    @orbitbooster
You took Chaz out of my mouth in this second huge post i'm preparing. I also dig any post with Chaz Jankel who's one of the most brilliant musicians/song writers/composers of the 70s and 80s. We should never forget Chaz Jankel was a force behind many iconic songs in Ian Dury's Blockheads band, the funkiest band London had ever seen up to that time hehehe. And they could play the loudest punk rock, the most drunken pub rock and the funkiest rap disco shit like it was a piece of cake. An early 80s disco/dance hit from Chaz which the older of us surely know :)

And after all these years they make great shows today, unlike other 80s Electro-Icons like Erasure or Depeche Mode, Andy and Dave sometimes are extremly embarrassing ( i dont know the rigth englisch word, in german i would say "peinlich")

Pet Shop Boys live @Royal Opera House London 2018

Inner Sanctum/ Opportunities (I really love the beginning of the show with the big eyes on the stage and when they come off)

Oh man. Goddam flashbacks. Back in 1989 i used to mix Supermax 's "Lovemachine" (1977) into FGTH- Two Tribes (1984 - 12") into Yello's "Tied Up In Red" (1988-12") into Pet Shop Boys' "Left To My Own Devices" (Disco Mix) (1989-12").
I always found Supermax, one of the most overlooked and underrated bands. Kurt Hauenstein's (RIP) multi-racial band founded in 1976 went on to release numerous albums and singles who defied genres with a passion. Supermax mixed rock, reggae, afro and disco funk and left many underground classics.
Fun fact: Despite constant death threads, Supermax were the first "mixed race" band to tour South Africa during the Apartheid period, playing 21 shows all over the country.
So, although their work in the second part of the 70s is full of great tracks (and since we 're on the 80s thread) here's some of their 80s forgotten gems:
    1980

    1981

    1989

Yes, I can't say that of the later single CD "Warriors of the Wasteland" that I bought just when it came out, also because of the "DDD" (the SPARS code) mark that anyone jumping on the digital bandwagon at that time was boasting clearly on the cover/sleeve.

I can't find it right now, but I remember that at the beginning of the first track there was Johnson wheezing and shouting at times in a supposedly silent environment and the background hum was so high that at first I thought it was a synth of sort.
It actually was just a bad digital recording, but it was a relatively new technology.

If I find it, I'll post those few secs.

    Still they kick ass!

    Yes mate!
Stand And Deliver video was shot 30 seconds walk from my house at the time.
As my father drove me to school and then him to work, we looked up the road and saw the film crew getting the gear out!
I'd already been hassling him the day before to not go to school and to get in on the shoot (he had friends on it) but he wasn't having any of it! lol.
I went to school that day very unhappy!
Stuff like Kings of The Wild Frontier and Dirk Wears White Socks I remember liking.
This really was his camp stage though. And it was awesome! haha.
And I still have it all on vinyl.

Almost 20 pages without many posts related to Miami bass. Here are three of its biggest hits:

    This. All this.
What an exciting time it was when this album came out! And all the 12" variations there were for Relax and Two Tribes!
That album was brilliantly executed and has some very interesting mix things going on in certain passages.
Which was probably why I followed Seal's progress for a while, what with him being produced by Trevor and on ZTT.
