The biggest problem with music education is that the things that are taught are not practically used. The current world of music is different from 50 years ago. Everything has changed, but the training is the same.

50 years ago, these trainings were used, and everything educators learned could be practically used, but now you're all seeing that the music market demands other things that can't be worked on with previous learnings.

The world of music has changed (simplified), so simplified that no one needs to know anything, if they know it, it won't work. The forum has about 50,000 members, but how many of them care about music knowledge? Maybe they're as many as fingers in two hands.

Those members have found their ways into the present world of music (good or bad) and have come to the conclusion that they don't have to engage too much in theoretical discussions. Of course, today's music market has made a huge contribution to their conclusions. Everything has become simplified.

 

Just one question my friend.

How do you differentiate between yourself inventing that in your imagination and it actually being the case ?

What you are describing there is the way you see things though based on your current specific level of musical development .

The way you see things in that way is just because you are focused on your own perspective .

Reality itself is actually very different than that .

A specific individual can focus on their
Musical development, and create music that has nothing to do with what came out before .
You can create an infinite amount of brand new fresh music that never existed until you just made it .

( where as you are just talking about certain cultural and historical things .)

If you focus on music itself and understand it
You can do anything with that knowledge.

( whether its concentration on culture or just inventing new types music )

Those millions of people you describe making music
With no knowledge its going nowhere and you don't know their name or hear their songs .

If you spent the rest of your life clicking a button to download the music which comes out everyday ,
You wouldn't have enough time in your lifespan to download it ( let alone listen to it )

A person in 2021 needs to go beyond anything of the past .
Just making nursery rhyme level songs with 1 chord and 3 notes won't leave a mark on the grand scale .
( a billion songs like that come out per day )

Do you want to be listened to... or ?

 

I'd love to see that your words were the same as reality...

This information i share is about music itself.
Not anything else .
Music itself has relationships.
Patterns that connect and interact in certain ways.
Just like any area of reality, if you concentrate on the way an area works you can learn about it,
Then take that knowledge to do things with .
For instance you were saying things like

Music is what it is independent of any of that .
5000 years from now music will be identical as it is now . ( the information of how music works)

Now we want to be careful not to use equivocation.

The word music is used to represent totally different things unrelated .

So we don't want to use equivocation

To represent totally different patterns of information.

The information I share here has nothing to do with a time period or what happened culturally
Its pure information about music .
( then , a particular individual can learn it and use that anyway they want to )

And someone responded
" Einstein did that 120 years ago ! "

The information contained in E=mc2
Has nothing to do with the time period Einstein presented it .

Here is just one question for you Jaq. Why do you think that every time, whenever you choose to spread your knowledge within this group the thread extends to many, many pages, yet very few are productive and instructional. Most are are contentious and always lose sight of the topics origins and extend into textual stoushes. This is a constant pattern with your posts and has been for years. Do you blame others or do accept any responsibility for this yourself? Have you wondered why you encounter such resistance when, as you claim, you want to expand our minds? Is it your technique? Is it your audience? Does something else create an environment that is always less than harmonious?
