I agree as all best of best ofs are clickbait.
I can honestly say I have a terrible singing voice.
A friend brought a harmonizer pedal and I sang through it and 4 voices was 4x worse:(
    At least I'm honest.
Most people who think they can sing really can't.
And I say that as a sound engineer, trying to polish the turd:yes:
My favorite singer, however, is Dawn Upshaw if only for her renditon of Gorecki's Third Symphony.
Give it time to start, you will be moved.

There was a big kerfuffle about how Celine Dion was left off the list after they diagnosed her music recently.

Mariah Carey in the to 20? Mariah needs multiple H3000 Ultra-Harmonizers to keep her pitch, key, and in tune. Mariah has used them in the studio and live for years.

Celine Dion was left off the list because her voice has soo much reverb and delay on it. Celine's will still sound 3-5 seconds after she stops singing. While that is not as bad as Mariah Carey using multiple harmonizers it's close. A true singer does not need to have their voice with that much delay and reverb on it

I was going to say Dimash isn't even on that list and that's ridicules but if you read it the "staff and key contributors" rated them by various metrics and none of them was on their technical ability.

"our purview is pop music writ large, meaning that almost all the artists on this list had significant careers as crossover stars making popular music for the masses." - "In all cases, what mattered most to us was originality, influence, the depth of an artist’s catalog, and the breadth of their musical legacy. ." ect

Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus are the best singers of all time the other 198 singers are irrelevant in comparison. They are Grammy Award winners and you can't take that away from them................well maybe you can.

I'm really missing Layne Staley on this list.

I mean, Glenn Danzig made it... :deep_facepalm:

It's probably a marketing ploy by the platinum companies to increase sales.

He doesn't get the mainstream hype but Aussie Matt Corby deserves to be in the conversation...

^ If you watch just one video, make it the one above, all the way through. Goosebumps galore. And his versatility is on full display. Range, loud belts to controlled softness, character, growl, feel, pitch perfect, improvised flurries & runs, the guy is flawless. He's mastered his voice as an instrument

    You kidding?

No amount of hardware can make someone's live vocal performance be this impressive:

    That's BS...
How do you know that? How do you know that others aren't using it?
Who is the best for you then...? (with little delay and reverb on it, of course)

This Rolling Stone list is a sign of total degeneration and a total joke on thinking and musical people.
So off into the garbage chute with it. Here are my top five singers:

    Blondie - Greatest Hits

Dead Can Dance - The Host of Seraphim

The Sound - In The Hothouse

The Doors - The Best Of

This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren

Honestly Rolling Stones? A trash magazine where 80-year-old wankers write about their favorite singers? It's worth what it's worth, rubbish.
