    Hi,
I'm struggling to recognize rythm track in this song (Wing and a Prayer), now classics (published here under Fair Use, 29 second long excerpt published solely for identification, hope it's copyrightly correct)
I hear there some sort of African or Cuban percussion, not sure which instruments, it's pretty crowded. But what am I mainly interested in, what is that sort of "cymbal sound" from 0:01 to 0:15? It sounds like acoustic thing, but I've probably never heard it. Is it some sort of processed cymbal or shaker? The tail is quite short:

Maybe I'm just deaf, but I don't have any clue :grooves: . I've studied books on orchestration, harmony, composition, melody but never came across some book solely on acoustic and electric percussion. Any tips would be also appreciated.
    Thanks!

Ehm, I think it's just a (closed) hi-hat with synced delay, maybe pitched-up along with some percussion tom-like drum and a supporting snare.
