How he and everyone puts up with the same questions, especially involving a certain power synth, they have a damn sight more patience than I. Been on the sister site for years and a long time reader on here before joining, and the work done by the people that run it, it’s not only impressive but greatly appreciated, and whilst the throw away comments are made, I believe they are all heartfelt. Much as I support that, my post isn't thanking the teams, it is specifically thanking PiRAT and any helpers at the sister site.
Because it has to be said.

 

Omg. You are totally correct. I just got that confirmed in a PM with one of those teams.
I was under the impression that ALL uploads had to be run past PiRAT, but it's just ours!
I know where this misunderstanding came from too.
The teams are able to upload their own content.
Way to go, the teams!

I see that there are doubts about his job, so to clear things: PiRAT is responsible for post moderation, and for reups in case OP can't re-up.
So thanks to him most of the posts stay alive. That's a fundamental task.

About post moderation, members with specific status, like poster, releaser, contributor,. Etc .. Are allowed to post without passing through PiRAT moderation.

 

The way it works is all posts get run through Valter who handles approvals but members with a certain status can post without approval because they're trusted by the site. These are the groups known as Contributors and Releasers.

 

No Valter ... PiRAT Is the One in charge.
Guys, please if you don't know ask me. But don't tell things that are not true.

I've had first hand experience with PiRAT re-upping several dead releases. He's always been graciously helpful
