i'm quiet new on this forum, but for some reason i often think about them, What happened to those Team who rule my world for years and slowly disapeared one after the other..?

 

Team AiR is gone. Dynamics is still around.

 

I guess one of the main reasons is..
most friends I had, who used to be a DJ, little by little, a girlfriend here, a wife there, a kid there, a serious job, a house credit to pay, a second kid... they had to stop their passion, and almost start a new life.

I guess the same must apply, to these scene guys.

And when you are 4 or 5, and 2 or 3 quit, for some reasons, maybe that side 'a bunch of kids , in a corner, playing with each other' just goes away, and the motivation is gone.

I remember reading the guy who had cracked the ps3, had found a big job in the security domain.
Maybe there are a bunch of these talented guys/crackers working for companies like McAfee, native instruments, etc.
I am sure the r2r guys could easily find big $$$$$ jobs, as chief architect, etc, on some big companies.

And yeah, people also disappear.. like God GOUDA from Air. I imagine that tragedy teared the group apart. R.I.P

That coz you started out in the late 90's, early 2000's. Like a lot of guys did. So it makes sense. I still remember the "WILKOMM TO ZE RADIUM CUBASE INSTALLAAAA, WIZ MEE, SPECIAL GUEST, CHARLIE STEINBERG".

btw. The first installer I wanted to created was a copy of an installer by AiR because I wanted to be able to do such great installers too.
Since then I started learning everything I need about Inno Setup and it needed some time to get behind their installers but finally I got it.

I've been meaning to dig into Inno Setup a bit more. Cool stuff for sure.

 

Reading this thread made me realise I've grown up with "cracked" software.

My uncle started me off with a BBC Micro computer in 1984 and gave me a shoebox full of pirated games on cassette.
Then onto a cracked floppy of Cubase 2.0 on ATARI ST in 1993 which I sequenced with right up until 2008!

I should probably donate some money to the Steinberg team of the 1990's

 

I remember a cracked version of space invaders for Radio Shack TRS80. Of course we also wrote our own versions as well. Lol

 

i wonder if anybody ever cracked the atari 2600....

 

Probably. There are still people developing for the NES. I love a modded console. Been into them since about PS1.

heard a story from a guy who know a guy that one of the people behind Splice could be an EX from Team AIR... Nothing that i can verify, but i quiet like the idea wether it's true or not..

Some old sceners are AAA game lead developers.

One funny fact is that one really famous ex scener became a governor in San Diego after migrating to USA.

Digital Illusions (DICE), Starbreeze and Remedy was all started by sceners.

I did music for cracktros in the 90's and 2000's... if you played cracked games in that period you might have heard it.
