which one are you talking about exactly ? all those DV plugins have saturation and sort of sound stage to it, depends on how one looks at it

yeah, ML tech is just a baby now, obviously the potential is beyond our imagination but the most important thing is the human part of it, the guy that run the ML gets some cool idea to abuse the ML to the max. I mean testing input vs output matching method is close to its max ceiling right now, they are unbelievably good and maybe the devs should move away from it a bit, at least starting to think of a possibility of new method. It is important to begin to learn the other side of it, or maybe start a journey to the rabbit hole of how can a box that was built without transformers with all the high quality parts and wiring that has super low THD still has a cool sound that people would pay 10k for it just like that even in this golden era of digital plugins. That one is still a mystery and I'd very much hope ML could solve and ultimately replicate in plugin form because I ain't gonna pay that much for that box. I want me a new Silver Jubilee.

 

The notable point about the MBT was it was the first time you could engage both Red (enhancing harmonic content generated by the highs and high mids) and Blue (enhancing harmonics generated by the lows and low mids) Silk simultaneously (hence the term Super Silk), rather than previous Neve hardware (eg Master Bus Processor, Shelford Channel, 511 preamp, 542 Tape Emulator etc) where you could only choose between one or the other Silk modes.

If you are designated "Audiosexual" you are required to wear a condom if you post in any thread on the forum. If under your avatar it says "Member" it refers to male genitalia even though one might be female because male is inherent in the spelling of female. Saint is weird that way! You'll get used to it. Omiac strictly enforces the rules.

The supposed technology that the dev claims to have used in order to emulate the hardware, "APNN (Audio Processing Neural Network) 2.0", almost saying that his emulations are more real than the model, is insufficient to carry out this "China business", considering the theoretical postulates stated in the Manual. It doesn't capture the essence and "dynamis" (what Aristotle called entelechy when speaking about the soul of animals that provides them with movement). The same thing happens with IR Reverbs, for example: they capture the environment and moves, but they don't properly represent the topological dynamics (the "soul", the word they use), which the best algorithmic reverbs can encode.
