Hello there, audioSEX tribe! hope you're doing well...

I'm having some trouble with the Symphonic Strings Evolutions v1.0.1b25 MiNiFiED library.

Here's the deal: I downloaded the MiNiFiED version and, just to be safe, updated the wallpaper using the provided PROPER NICNT file...

After adding the library, it works perfectly, but the issue is: I can't change its wallpaper! :dunno:

There’s no change in the dimensions, file size, or format used... I’m working with the same settings I always use to modify/update my wallpapers, and this is the first time I’ve ever had this issue! :dunno:

Does anyone have any tips to fix this? :snuffy:
Could it be some kind of limitation/modification caused by the library's minification? :snuffy:

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey bud!
Do you mean you placed a wallpaper.png file or you replaced the nicnt with the non-lite original lib?

    Hi pal!

I downloaded the MiNiFiED file, extracted it, and added the library as usual (Kontakt 8, latest version) and everything worked fine.

Then I created my own wallpaper and simply placed my file named wallpaper.png directly into the library folder. After that, nothing happened. So I remembered to use the PROPER NICNT file provided by Talula, uninstalled the library, cleaned the registry, and re-added it with the "PROPER NICNT". Just like before, the wallpaper doesn’t change at all.

The library works normally: there are no functionality issues or demo warnings like some users have previously reported. The only problem is with displaying the custom wallpaper I created.

Maybe there’s a wallpaper embedded in the NICNT itself, since users like you used to (or still do) this kind of thing!

But I believe that’s more common with custom-made NICNTs, unlike the ones that come with the 'original' file, right?

I'd bet my old ass it's that
In fact, in most libs the wallpaper is in the nicnt file

Anyways, if you pm me the nicnt and the wallpaper you want and I'll embed it

Found the 'body' (or the 'bug'), and the case is officially closed!

Turns out, there was a sneaky little folder named 'info' in the library folder, hoarding the 'offending' wallpaper

The moment I deleted that troublemaker, my actual wallpaper magically decided to stop hiding and popped right up in the Kontakt Library tab.

I suspect some modification must have been slipped into the release, just to keep us on our toes...

Anyway pal, thanks a million for your consistently incredible and heroic willingness to save the day! :mates:

Just a reminder - any time you see a "minified" moniker on a Kontakt or other instrument release it means someone has gone in and dumbed down the samples from the original rates/specs (i.e. it's been modified, whole or in part, from the original). Personally, I cannot abide this practice since these sampled "instruments" are hard enough to extract a modicum of realism to be believable in the first place. Dumbing the stuff down is just stupid IMO...

Hahaha, yeah, fair point dude! But you gotta understan: sometimes we just want our Kontakt libraries to load faster than a microwave burrito on a sketch-session laptop! Sure, realism takes a hit, but at least my old-timer CPU doesn’t start sobbing in the corner... I call it artistic compression therapy! When I need quality, I use my PC with a 1TB NVMe SSD and three internal 2TB hard drives and voilà, smooth sailing from there...
