    Hello fellas,

is anyone of you guys running Sylenth1 on Windows 8 x64? Some (including myself) people experienced problems with Sylenth1 on Windows 8. It has been throwing this "Thank you for trying this demo" sound, although software was registered correctly.

    Thanks

There is no workaround or fix for the issue as of now. I worked with a number of other people for over two weeks trying to get Sylenth functioning properly. At this point we need a fix from LennarDigital.

rule of thumb... never switch to a new operating system in the early stages of their release. I'm sticking with Windows 7 for now. Even when I get my new machine later this year It will be a WIndows 7 machine. Blue screens in Windows XP drove me to windows 7 and since then I have no complaints.

I had that problem on 8 release preview with slynth and ableton sayong it needs auth,I disabled windows defendar as it just sniffs everything out thats pirated also when you load stuff, once you know it works, make a fresh windows restore point delete old restore points(Ccleaner) ,Think the best advice is stay on win 7 till 8 is sorted prop. Loads of programes wont load on 8 at moment,Photoshop is OK but not acrobat.

had sylenth1 installed on Win8 x64 comsumer preview around march 2012 together with ableton and had no problems.
run Ableton as Admin and then the reg key should stay in sylenth1. its the same with win7 x64.

Hello there I have been running Windows 8 for almost 2 years now LOL MSDN group user here.
The first thing to remember is in Windows 8, make sure to disable Windows defender period that is priority one.

Next in case some application will not run or has issues with authos, then you need to right click the main applications EXE and click properties and under "compatibility" set it to Windows 7, then at the bottom "Run as Administrator"

*** In some apps ( I have noticed a few) the developer sets the main EXE so that the user account does not have permission rights for it. In case check out the permissions on the main exe and check if FULL is on.

You need to do this to some keygens in Windows 7 and 8 as well.

So far Everything I run is running like a Champ in Windows 8. My buddy with the computer store actually was a provider for the Beta additions to the MSDN developers. He came up with the idea of pre-emptive Services Management, which is new to Windows 8. I can see now why it makes sense. I am having incredible boot times at 7 seconds to the desktop from powering on, and this is on a modest laptop.

He basically said his contributions made a big increase in speed and less issues with programs crashing due to how the management of Windows services are handled.

He setup my system with some of those ideas. In windows 8 only a few tweeks are needed now.
Not much messing with the services now.

Try the "run as admin" and see if you can get it to work

Well I am happy with windows 8 and is now time to retire windows XP. All my systems have Windows 8 installed

Microsoft added many changes to give us more manual control of WIndows 8 = less clicking and going into submenus to get something done. The new Ribbon at the top of the folders or windows you open relate to all settings with one click to see the menu for options, this is what I have been wanting for years!!!

One more thing: Since you mentioned X64, remember 2 program folders are created to seperate x86 installs from X64, so this may conflict with the registry when adding reg hacks or mods. I will look into this.

    Replying to test :

Windows 8 x32 Reaper as host = no issues
Windows 8 X64 Reaper as host = no issues

    Using this release
    h%%p://audioz.info/samples/presets_impulses/43663-download_3-skin-lennar-digital-sylenth1-vsti-v2212-pc-installer.html

Copied the contents to C:\Program Files\VST Plugins
This was done on both X32 and x64 Windows 8.

yeah i like win7, and reading about8 it's mainly graphics improvements. and i also read if you use windows XP embedded you can use even more ram then normal XP 3gb. not that i ever use more then 3 at a time.

My rule of thumb has always been to wait for SP3 before upgrading. By then the manufacturers have usually finally gotten around to updating the drivers for all your hardware. If it hasn't been updated by then, it never will be.

lennardigital has a fix, but you have to be legal owner of sylenth1 to get it.
