    hi guys,

i'm working on a new project & the high ends of the bass sound in the song is quite disturbing.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/dvyz3h8zc6o4mpl/demo.mp3?dl=0

i want to use this preset as this works perfect in my mix, please help me out in making this bass sound smooth.

P.S. I tried eqing, compression and some other effects too but they were decreasing the sound quality.

little filter over that bass sound and with LP cut the high freq a bit away.

you can also use the filter in sylenth1.

you said the high end is disturbing, so you can gentle LP it away until you find it good working in your mixdown. well i dont have the context now of your track, it could be somebody else (for example ME), says it sounding good with the high end you want to remove.

maybe somebody else have an other idea.

Lowpass filter or high shelving EQ cut.

I really don't know what the problem is. It might get/become "dull" on its own, but what matters is how it sounds in a mix (with other high-end content).

Or you can make a inverted bandpass (like a wide notch filter) where you keep the lows and the very highs, and ditch/mute out everything in the mids. ;) But I think that's above you head.

The best way to fix this situation is to notch filter out that frequency range but not to the point it becomes dull. You do need some of that upper frequency range but with a spectrum analyzer plugin you can see where things are really harsh and "notch them out"

try droping the note to -5 on oscillator a and b
amp env a drop the r by 2

    ====

mod env 1 and 2 is set to cutoff ab
lfo 1 and 2 and misc 1 and 2 are all set to cutoff ab but your only useing part a or mix a ?

try setting all the buttons on the lower part of the plugin back to defalt as well.
then set them to cutoff a and mess around with the settings one at a time,

in addition to high cutting or shelving, you can try applying tape or valve saturation as these tend to reduce high frequency content. This can add to nice analogue warmth and color to the sound also. If you try this and don't like the effect is has on the low and mid range, you could frequency split and put tape.valve on just the high end. Experiment.
