Indeed but again it depends on the type of composer and creator you are as to whether that is needed. Personally I cant read music, I can just play what I hear without actually knowing what I am playing but it works for me.

Although I dont use Cubase as my daily DAW anymore I still have it installed should it be needed for anything.

So do you not agree that a DAW is a personal thing/choice? If I thought Tracktion Waveform Pro was the best thing since sliced bread because it totally worked for me and told you this is the DAW for you, would that be a crappy argument just because it worked for me? (Tracktion wasn't a very good example haha)

I've never made a 32 track in my life, wow that would be some project.

BUT being as you are a stippler for facts. What works for you won't necessarily work for someone else. FACT

btw, I'm not familiar with its competitors(so probably can be a cheaper variant), but Guitar Rig has its own (Bitwig-like) modulation system (envelope followers, macros, freq or mid-side splitters at 14:00 on the video etc), so there's no need for a DAW (Bitwig) that's specifically designed for this purpose

and you will be able to use guitar-specific effect chains instead of the more general ones found in Bitwig

Interesting point I will have a look at that as I have Guitar Rig 7, nice bit of software indeed.

    Cheers for the tip.

It mostly isn't. The type of music you make, other instruments, and also your computer specs/OS narrow it down considerably. Some people will use a DAW that makes no sense for what they are trying to do. "Death Metal in Reason!" will be the clickbait title of the YT video. But generally, it will be a lot of extra work and the song will still suck.

The one that is best suited to your goals is usually much more than personal preference.

I can see the Guitar Rig has been discounted on the last BF (Guitar Rig 6 Pro – $99.50(discounted from $199)) that's ok

about Cubase, it's available for purchase from Splice(rent-to-own 16$per month), with a 14-day free trial. Usually, Steinberg has a 50% discount around summer, between August and September. The trial version will be for 90 days once it is released, meaning from December to May, you would need to make payments on Splice or use the cracked version until then. It's hard to tell whether it's worth the struggle

Or you could start with a limited version of Cubase and upgrade it when it's cheaper. I probably would choose this way

no need cracked version etc. and the meantime you can start learning the shortkeys

    at least :)

btw. Protoculture has just started a Cubase series
