    Hi All
I have some electronic drum kit samples, and I want to add the samples to the HiHats, however I cant see how to add the different samples for closed hi hat and open hi hat so that it plays both as needed.
I can add one sample and it works, but its either open or closed

    Thanks

Typically, you would assign closed samples to one note, and open samples to another note. I don't have SD3 installed on my system at the moment, so I can't confirm that's how it works in SD3, specifically.

    This may help a little

You may also want to click Show\/ (Drop Down at Top Right) and select MIDI Mapping Keys

thank you,Samsum :) Unfortunately that video doesnt show me anything I didnt know, and it doesnt give me any idea how to add different samples top the same hi hat

When I add a sample to my closed hi hat and click the articulations drop down, the only articulation available is HIT, the other varitations are just not there

My only other issue is that I have added a 3rd crash cymbal to my setup.
When I strike crashes #2 and #3 the same sound comes out and only crash #2 shows any movement on the SD3 screen

    :)

I thought if you click on your Hi-Hat and go to More \/ (dropdown) and Add to you should get many options to be able to do it from there or Add instrument (top left) but not played with it myself. I would just drop the hi-hat or crashes in a Sampler myself so sorry can't help you further

    Hi Samsum
I see everything , just like your screenshot before I add a sample, but the moment I click import audio file and add my sample (for closed hi hat) all those other articulation options just disapear.

I've never tried it but I suspect you're only allowed to add one sample per instrument as opposed to one sample per articulation. All the different instruments available in Superior have multiple articulations and I guess it all just adds up to so many they didn't want to set up the memory management to allow that many outside samples since they figured not many people were going to be using it that way. Perhaps it would just be easier to run Superior in conjunction with a second sampler running your samples and simply map everything to the same midi note... :dunno: don't know just brainstorming here

I think you are probably right ,Smeggy. I was basically adding Linn drum samples all over the kit , just for fun really, and then the 3 different Linn hi hat articulations completely threw me ;-)

Thanks for all your help and responses, I just have one other issue that I'm hoping for some advice on .
I have an Alesis Surge Mesh kit with an addition Alesis Nitro expansion tom and cymbal pack.
I am trying to add another cymbal , hopefully using the rim split from a tom for the extra cymbal.
So far all I have achieved is the extra cymbal and tom making exactly the same sound, or the cymbal just doesnt make any sound at all.
I'm not even sure if I have the correct splitter.
    I have a
1/4 Splitter Cable, 1/4" TRS Stereo Male to Dual 1/4" TRS Stereo Female Jack Quarter Inch Splitter Cord

    ALL FIXED NOW :)
