Luca Prodan was born in Rome and settled in Argentina to form Sumo. Luca studied in Scotland, in a traditional school where he and Prince Charles were classmates. After a few years, he escaped from the establishment to tour Europe. His first group of importance was The New Clear Heads, formed in London in the 70's. Then he crossed the Atlantic to form Sumo with friends, neighbors and radically change the sound of the time. Having arrived into a unknown land with with very little knowledge of the language, Sumo gradually started shifting their sound into a mixture of both English and Spanish. Separate recordings of Luca Prodan include him singing in Italian.
