    HI,

I'm looking for a system wide VST host that could process all my audio from my music player to my browser.

I found some but they have way too many functions which unnecessary complicate the things. I only want to run one VST plugin in the background to process all my audio output. The only requirement is that the app should start with system and quietly runs in the background without showing any interface unless called upon so I don't get distract during my workflow.

I could even use a VST wrapper, if there's a standalone one out there.

I've tried many but none suited my purpose, I had to finally ask the community.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Could you elaborate a bit more?
Also, Windows or not, and so on
Yeah, that's kind of the best. But I don't know about the system-wide and routing needs. Perhaps one of those fancy super ASIO wrappers? ODeus whatever or Banana Voicemeter comes to my mind but I can't tell by heart

After a bit of thinking I think he means the VST is applied to any Windows sound, from a music player until a web site sound.

Hi, tried it along with Nanohost but for some strange reason the MME device is capturing the audio from my microphone instead of my sound card. Tried all possible variations, none seem to be working.

This might be because of the Realtek sound cards. I have heard the complaints of unusual complications with these sound cards when inserting an APO before.

Thanks for the suggestion, this is exactly what I need but for some unknown reason, this is not detecting my channel configuration properly. It's using the configuration what Windows detecs L+R but I have a sub-woofer too and EQualizer APO is bypassing it completely hence there's no bass in the output.

I don't know where to go from here, or where to ask for help.

I created a request for DDMF virtual Audio Stream on sister site but apparently it didn't get approved. I did everything following the example and rules. Anyone has any idea why ?

REAPER is a really lightweight DAW and I've used it before for live performances. It gets the job done.

I wrote a simple custom script that helps me with this. Basically, I load different instruments along with the required effects on separate tracks. Using my script, I can press the keys 1 - 9 on my keyboard and it "activates" the required track. It's basically like having a workstation synth and switching between different sounds on it. Based on my requirements, I can:
    1. Record Arm
    2. Solo
    3. Unmute
the track that I want to play. Using the "Record Arm" mode is the best as it allows delay and reverb tails to ring on, but sometimes the "Unmute" mode can come in handy when you want to save some CPU power.
Once I learn more about ReaScripts, I plan on adding the ability to select the tracks via MIDI Program Change messages.

EDIT: I see that you only need a single VST to run. You can use SaviHost by Hermann Seib. And regarding your requirement about the program launching, it's easily done on any OS.
    For Windows, read here: https://www.howtogeek.com/208224/ho...and-folders-to-system-startup-in-windows-8.1/

I think this is the only solution that does what the OP wants. Despite looking difficult to install.
It's the only one that can be applied to the "generic" audio driver, so it can be applied to every sound that goes to the Windows sound output, which would be the ASIO driver.
Seems interesting, I would try it but I'm still recovering from my last geek mess shared here
