I´m a little confused about the Graindad v.1.0.1. release.
Can we install this without problems ?

This is triggering a quarantine with ESET smart security (which is rare). This is what I'd call a "generic/packed" alert, so none specific and it might be OK, but Sugar Bytes are going the way of Tone2. Might want to wait for an R2R of this one. Just don't really trust "no group/crack" on this one.

The release from VR works but i dont want to install the whole FX Bundle.......
Or should i wait for our japanese friends ?

I personally wouldn't take any risk with this and would avoid installing it. Some people will argue it's probably a false positive but in the end it's not their system that becomes compromised when it is indeed a trojan.The whole Sugar Bytes VR package is about 50kb so I would install this until there is a another one available. You can always remove the VR package afterwards if you want.

There it runs through several scanners. If it is indeed a false positive it wont trip all the others, just maybe one or two... If it does more than half? Then I would leave well alone!

It triggered MalwareBytes, for me. Much like the Audionews poster said, it was more of a generic detection, detected via "A.I.". I decided to just play it safe. I did not see any name attached to this release at all, so no idea who cracked it. Personally, I can usually wait.. don't need every plugin that badly I want to take the chance. I know V.R is a dirty word to most, but they have a Sugarbytes FX release with Graindad in it, if you get desperate to try it. It works. It helped me realize that I probably won't use the plugin.

 

I don't think that's true. My guess is that most people like V.R along with all the others doing this work.
People have favorites and preferences, but I think very few actually dislike V.R.

 

I'm not a computer savvy, but my PC started acting weird today (opening and closing apps randomly). I ran a full scan and found:

startup: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Sugar Bytes\Graindad\Uninstall.lnk

This is just an alert in case anyone is having similar issues. I don't know if this is the correct forum.

I just missed this thread and created another similar one. This is what I found with this release:

Just check if the release is signed by a renowned team, if not, just trash it, and look for another release.
