    Howdy kind folks!

Ok.. as stated above, Im feeling like quite an idiot.. In Ableton Live, I've Been using Stutter Edit forever on single tracks... no problem there.

Just recently I've thrown it on the master track and experimenting so that I can effect the entire track... but it seems you can only trigger it via it's software interface as the Master track has no input from My midi controller... and certainly no way to record the midi on the Master.

So.. I assumed it can be placed on a return track, then sending all tracks in the song to the return with Stutter Edit on it.. effectively accomplishing the same result as putting it on the Master track

But.. 1. I cant seem to figure out how to do that correctly..

and 2. How to then record that midi I have played on my keyboard.

All sounds very simple..and I'm sure it probably is.. but routing back and forth REALLY screws with my head and I can't sort it out.

Thanks in advance fellow sexers!

    1) Open up an instance of stutter edit on the master track
    2) on the right of the Ablton interface there is the "io" button Click that to show the ins and outs of individual tracks
    3) Create a MIDI track
    4) Set the output of the MIDI track to the Master track..
    5) Record enable the MIDI track and then record your effects as you would any other instrument

The i/o routing can be tricky. Try saving a default template with all that stuff already done for you .

    Probably I will do following:

    - create audio track (bus)
    - route all channels to bus
    - bus route to master channel

put ShutterEdit on "bus", create a midi track and route midi out to "bus" midi input...

It's tricky because of Master track :)

+1 nikon - I don't use Live but that's how I'd approach this too, I think you'll find it's the easiest way when you can't route MIDI to the master outs.

Or another idea (the most basic one) - bounce your mix down then open a new project and use your bounced audio file with Stutter on its channel?

I would also bus process. Not master process.

from how all this routing stuff can work sometimes, I'm quite suprised audio engineering doesn't involve butt plugs...(curious)

    Thanks everyone..!

Yes that's my Site... But Im not doing new themes anymore, now strictly doing Audio UI work for several different companies.

You can see a few of my UI designs in my gallery on Deviantart.

    My Gallery

As far as Album cover art, I'll see if I can come up with something, but UI design is really where my skils lay.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE that is some really cool shit man. Love your vst designs...when I start getting into DSP programming I would love to get you to design me an awesome UI.

I'm pretty sure you can apply your awesome UI skills and formulate it into a cover art design. Maybe you can make the design look like a vst to represent our love for Audio...just an idea *yes*
