Hello Linux users,

I use Reaper in two flavors:
a) Linux Reaper
b) Windows Reaper under Wine Linux.
My distribution is Linux MX21.

I heard the demo's of StudioLogic Numa Player v2.1.0 and I was very interested. Especially since there is also a Linux version available.

1. The Linux version consists of two installers:
- NumaPlayer_2.0.1.deb
- NumaPlayer_2.0.1.rpm
I tried to install the .deb version with my Deb Installer but it returns an error.
I tried to manually install the components by copying them, but no luck either.
I have no idea what the .rpm installer is for.

2. The regular windows version can be installed under Wine.
I installed this: no errors.
Reaper scans the vst3, returns an error, but the vst3 is installed correctly according to the contents of the
reaper-vstplugins64.ini :
"Numa_Player.vst3=00715D5AD2AEDB01,517307363{ABCDEF019182FAEB534C6F674E756D61,Numa Player
(Studiologic)!!!VSTi" which shows that Reaper did recognize the plugin. Otherwise the contents would
look something like this "Numa_Player.vst3=00715D5AD2AEDB01".
When opening the plugin, the GUI is empty. When pushing the UI button (so only the sliders are showed
without GUI) the contents are empty as well.

So I clearly am missing "some" things here.
Since there seems to be an error in the Linux installer, I would be very happy to get the plugin installed in my windows Linux Reaper.

Anybody has any clue what is missing in my Wine installation?

Okay, update:
1. I understand that the .rpm is not for Debian users. Got it.
2. I Tried to install the .deb version manually with the bash code, but I get the same error. I think that the debian installer is not correct.
I sent an email to StudioLogic support. I hope that they can help.
3. I went on with the windows version. The problem could be DXVK missing libraries. Checking it: DXVK is already correct present.
I am using Wine v8.20 which seems to be sufficient. I am not sure I can use Wine and Wine Staging next to each other?
4. I updated Winetricks and installed the corefonts vcrun2019.
Still no luck in windows reaper.....

 

New Studiologic Numa Player, free as in beer, works perfectly on Linux standalone (Wine) and VST3 (Yabridge)

Thanks Radio. Somehow it must be possible to get it working under Wine, but I just need to know what my Wine configuration is missing. Since there is no error report, I don't know what .dll files are missing.

I hope someone can help?

 

Steps:

Install Wine:
Make sure you have the latest version of Wine installed. On Arch Linux, you can do this via the AUR package manager:
bash
Copy
Edit
sudo pacman -S wine

Download Numa Player:
Download the latest version of Numa Player from the official Studiologic website:
https://www.studiologic-music.com/products/numaplayer/

Install with Wine:
Run the installer with Wine:
bash
Copy
Edit
wine NumaPlayer_Installer.exe
Follow the installer instructions.

Configure Yabridge:
Install Yabridge to make Numa Player's VST plugins available on Linux.
Yabridge installation and configuration are described in detail in this tutorial.

Note that you must specify the path to the Numa Player VST plugins to synchronize them with Yabridge.
