Also v2 had a similar problem,documented by many user on official forum, crashing when closing: partially solved from 2.4, if I remember well: in any case it was (and it is)always a good habit to follow these statements

1: never close with red x square
2: close song (or project) first, wait a minimum for used vst to close well, then quit program

Never had any problem since I used this routine

Finally, sorry if I repeat, working with less then 16 gb is a bet, freezing tracks is obligatory

 

well Im using win7 (64bit) Ultimate and DDR2 4 X 2 GB Ram.

 

it could depend by some issue between some Windows versions and Studio one.

I'm playing with Studio One 3 and a modded versione of Win7 and everything works fine. Also memory leaking seems disappeared. i'll run some other tests.

i'm going to test it in depth with S1 v3

 

Just found another one:
- Put the Spectrum Meter on a track
- Choose the Waterfall mode @ 512
- Try to resize the plugin window
- After a point the window will freeze / if you had engaged playback it will continue to play but become unresponsive / cursor will stick to the resizing left-right arrows / you can't move the cursor above the taskbar (can't move beyond S1's window)

 

the display of mixer console is not flawless when used on a second screen.

as I previously wrote: Studio One has a range of really interesting features, but a number of functions are well hidden and some appears unfinished...

let's hope for a useable update in future.

you could try to open and re-save the project (save to new folder) in a previous version like 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 and see if it fix also for 3.0.2

 

all this talk of crashing is giving me flashbacks of early ableton live 8

 

i'm not a big fan of V3 but i must say that it crashed only 1 in 2 months caused by some plugins. Ableton 8 was a real nightmare couldn't work more than 30 minutes without a random crash. They did a good job with 9 wich should crash a lot less.

 

Check your Bios Settings you definitely have something configured wrong its not StudioOne Causing this ! sounds like bad Ram or bad Config in the Bios , especially if you did a fresh OS Install with no positive results

 

I installed all t
he plugins + S1 v3 on my recently installed Win10 and i have no crash yet. Already opening finished project made on the previous OS with really no crash so far.

Also, may i ask you what graphic card you have hooked on your build? There've been reported S1v3 crashes caused by old graphic card drivers or on-board graphics. Mine is an entry-level dedicated Nvidia GT630 and i have no problem with it even with 2 monitors hooked on it. So still, saying that "S1v3" is not ready is more like a subjective opinion based on a minority fact. You'll find users who faced crashes even on the new Cubase 8 or Pro Tools 12. Problems doesn't always relies just on the software itself. Also, with the new hardware around it's hard for the software devs to come up with a NEW VERSION of a software which people would expect to rock on both old and new builds or ALL types of builds just because it's a new and improved version. New features comes with new stability challanges in the program's code.

Anyway, there should be a problem on your computer, it's not just the software itself.

yea it crash 3 times per day for me , i have notice when i load up my starting preset it does go in freeeze mode an kick me our, i have notice when i bouncin from song mode to project mode it does crash, studio one 3 has alot of bugs i dont know why they are rushing the program...i mix heavy on a daily basis i dont like the crashing of the program. sometime the auto update take long to update when it crash an u go back to the recent update an u reopen the project its like 1 or 2 hours away from the last autoupdate..

 

Win 10, S1 v3 no crashes for me ever.

I would check ur ram and alsoo presonus forums.

 

I used to have constant crashes until I set "Internal Block Size" in audio settings back to 512 instead of higher. Now it's quite stable.

I have an unrelated "problem" with Studio One though. When I first installed it, it started up fast. Now it takes minutes to "Start VST support" even if there are no VSTs in the folders and I have it set to not automatically scan for them. I'm wondering if I should reinstall it or something.
