Being a Hackintosh and Logic user, I always have an eye on the current developments of Studio One, because once Apple makes the switch to their own CPUs Hackintoshing is probably doomed I guess, so I have to return to windows for my production and sound design work.

Judging from the demonstration video 4.5 has some nice improvements.

But what really, really confuses me about Studio one is,that the faders react to the mouse wheel without clicking an additional mouse button. Can I disable this??? This really messes with my workflow.

@5teezo Despite the fact that customers have been requesting it for years, once again Presonus ignored it and failed to implement it in this update. You can disable the wheel or use 2 different mouse devices.

Thanks, but I've chosen the "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" trick from GT33 because I don't have any firewall except in my router which I prefer to leave alone.

Yep, it's super easy to reproduce R2R's patching scheme with an hex editor (and use their Keygen in case of fresh install).
This is how I was able to spot the network bug 5 minutes after the release :winker:.

thanks for the list... but mehhhhhh.. :bleh: i have barely heard about those and im doing very good without them, so definitely i'm missing nothing.

32bit is defunct and it is not worth for Presonus to spent the effort to code a bridge to satisfy a minority of users.

They better keep on adding other features that has been always in cubase & logic :winker:

Just ask the developers of those plugins to recompile their plugins in 64bit architecture or if they don't want or can't do that, they just should give away their source code so others can achieve the work.. and if they don't want to do that either, then fuck them.. just use something else to replace ..and the problem is solved.

how fast is it when moving plugin windows on you mac und s1 ? they are quite laggy here, it feels like they are following my mouse pointer like a mouse tail,

Anyone else notices that the GUI of Studio one is faster on Windows than on mac when moving Plugin Windows ?

In contrast to selct multiple regions and move them , thats faster on macOS

Sure you have legit one? Never failed scanning plugin here, only the first time takes some time with Waves and some old plugins, but in the next open, never fail.

Remember you need stay connected to the net for a full plugin scanning.

All new features are nice, maybe I don't use all them, but SO has my favorite DAW together with Cubase 10.

I miss an extended integrated channel strip on SO mixer console, with no need to load plugins as insert every time... like the brand new Cubase 10.

    Thanks.

If you use Roland Cloud, Native Instruments, Splice or other like this, SO need check the integrated licence for these plugins, and for make that need stay on the net at last in the first time scanning.

Internet connection now are fast and super accesible, you can use a 4G dongle to work in the forest on holidays...

Unless I am missing something you only have to scan when you have added new plugins. If your setup hasn't changed then disable scanning. I have scanning turned off and everything works fine for me.

Yes, but when you work with "unofficial" plugins, it's better to stay offline. Always.
This "network bug" is specific to v4.5. Previous versions didn't required to be online for the scanning.
The "Microsoft Loopback Adapter" workaround from GT33 is perfect.

It's not Presonus who are doing this. They didn't cooperate with Roland, NI and Splice to do this. Studio One just loads the plugins while scanning. If the plugins check the license while being scanned, that's created by the plugin developer.

what? you don't need to to use inserts in Cubase just make an effects channel and just send the signal to whatever effect you wanna use. specially reverb you can make an entire mix sound like it was all recorded in the same room, its pretty nifty

Forgive me for being totally daft, but glancing though this thread, I'm assuming that the new update will play back old 32 bit VST's. I have a 64 bit windows 10 PC running Studio One 4, now I personally don't like using third party software within a DAW, But would dearly love to run my elderly 32 bit version of Vanguard, Is this possible using S1 with the update?.....Offers

Nope. You need JBridge to do that.

I'm not the only one who want X32 support , especially when I pay , sooner or later this will come , maybe in 2050
I use those because soundwise are different than other vst synths ...
