Whatever I do in S1 4.1.3 It freezes randomly and has to be terminated in the task manager. There are a lot of changes under the hood that makes this version absolute UNRELIABLE! Never had any problems in all those years. WTF is going on Presonus!!

 

I thought v4.1.2 was the buggy one. I'm still on 4.1.1 but barely using it.

Yep, latest build.. It's dramatic. Randomly crashes. Never before...never!!

 

Funny no reports of this on the Presonus forums....LOL!! 4.12 yeah....but legit 4.13 seems to be ok with Win10.
A lot of the recent problems with S1, other DAWS AND audio hardware are the direct fault of Apple & Microsoft.
They don't give a crap about niche users like us and keep making changes to their OS's so they are more compatible
with phones and tablets.....not pro multimedia apps & hardware. It's difficult for smaller companies like Presonus
to keep up with the big boys. That's why my main DAW is running Win7 and will for the foreseeable future.

 

I don't think any version of S1 4 has worked for me, the plugin scanner just errors out FTS etcs, making it unusable. S1 3 works fine. I'm not sure if I should (prolly) uninstall that, too; it's about the only thing I can think of that I haven't tried. Now I'm not so sure.. =(

 

Been just fine with windows 10, tried a good number of daws and never got any issues.

Regarding SO i've got the latest (legal) flawless performance/ guess its just bad luck or your config.

 

No freezing on Wi7/64 but I noticed a strange behavior in all v4.x versions on some v3.x but not all projects, most probably a bug (or maybe a new feature that needs to be turned on) :
when I create a track to record the guitar and add insert FXs audio doesn't come out. Only dry guitar sound (yes I am monitoring that channel and not the input).
Effects look active, show dancing VU meters, remember settings but only dry guitar comes out or with send FX applied if added but no insert FX processing is being applied over the guitar input.
When playing with delay it is u must to hear repeats to be in sync so it is quite frustrating.
It doesn't matter which FXs are put into insert field, all of them don't process audio.
Any suggestion?

Holy cow, same with me! That's a shame. It won't scan my VST plugins.

Edited: I had forgotten lol. It works but takes ages to scan them. Too soon to speak about bugs or stability yet.

Edited v2: It seems to work fine. Win10 v1709 all legitless. Actually it may run a bit (faster) smoother than v4.1.

No problems here. Windows 10 with latest update. My copy of Studio One is legit, though.

no problems at all here, low latency and great overall performance. latest version too (legit ver), W10, presonus interface

 

I can confirm that after a while toying with it. It's clearly faster and smoother than the first v4 I tried.

 

win7 x64 tweaked, ssd/hdd , offline, no antivirus, no updates, no firewall, regular backup/system image ; drum ,machinez, brainworx , waves , roland , and call it a day. win10? nooo wayyyy

WIn 10 and S1 4.13... not experiencing any problems with crashing and not seeing much about it on Presonus forums..

9/10 things like this are locally related in my experience.

If you only use crack*d software don't be surprised to get some bugs sometimes.

and it's highly possible that your problem comes from any parameter in your OS or from any plugin.

 

Been having some hanging issues in legit 4.1.3 windows 7 machine but testing on a clean template as I’ve been using my template since version 3.5 seems to be a smoother overall experience so far
