Hey guys !
I am on Windows 8.1 and it seems that DRAG and DROP from explorer/desktop etc. to arrangement is not working if you run Studio One v3 PRO as administrator. I need it to run as admin for JBridger :/
Does anyone else has this problem?

 

I'm sorry my friend but afaik EVERY Windows program doesn't supports drag&drop while ran as Admin.

Evorax is correct. Unfortunately explorer.exe (which handles all drag and drop operations) doesn't run as admin, so dragging and dropping to any program that is running in admin mode can not be performed. You'll either have to not run Studio One as an admin or browse to the file using the built in browser or the import option in the menu. It sucks, I know.

 

Yes Sir Dante, S1 allows him to personalize the browser by creating/renaming new tabs or shortcuts which can really help in his regard.

 

can you not simply locate files using S1 browser then drag and drop?

 

Switched from 32 bit to fully 64 bit 1 months ago. What 32 bit plugins are you bridging??

 

You need also start the expolrer as admin!

i have the exact same problem same problem with cubase ,an i just use the import function.....

 

i find that resonic alpha program very useful.
and i use freecommander as an 'explorer' replacement..
both are indispensable for me...

lol i have just faced the same problem, for some annoying fucking reason, the drag and drop (from the win explorer lame shit) has stopped working..

the solution was: use the 'file tab' (internal browser) in S1

 

Your bridged 32 or 64 bit plugins should be visible in the S1 FX browser. Did you put the bridged plugins
in the correct folder or, add the bridged plugin folder to the VST directory list in S1?

The only way to achieve drag 'n drop in Win8/10 is to COMPLETELY disable User Account Control (UAC). Disadvantage is that your built-in MS apps don't work anymore. But..you can't have it all dude.

 

totally disabling uac doesnt always work buddy,
you have to hack the registry(change the value from 1 to zero) for it to totally work.

worked for me on win10.

 

haven't tried rebooting yet, but if it works i'll be really happy! I knew uac was the problem but didn't realize the the regedit was necessary. Great tip

i stumbled on this last week, after 6 months of no drag n drop since i upgraded to win10.
i nearly re-installed win7 just to get some functionality back into my pc.
happy to say win10 now behaving properly after that lil hack.
hope it helps every one else with win8/10.

 

Why in the world would people mess with their audio environment when Win 7 64bit is right now THE most stable version of windows for audio production.
If it aint broke,dont fix it.
