Hi everyone!

I was recently given a pair of HEDD Audio Type 20 to test. I have my speakers in a small/medium bedroom, but I do have proper tuned bass traps.

My regular speakers are Focal Shape 65 and I just could not notice how nice and deep the bass was on the HEDD Type 20 compared to Focal Shape 65. I always have heard that do not have big speakers in small room but, now, I think I am proved wrong a bit. Oddly enough, I did not notice a big difference in the high-end between Focals and HEDD, just that the HEDD's sound more complete.

Unfortunately the HEDD Type 20 are little out of my price range, so.

What are some alternative two-way or three-way speakers that have nice and clean bass extention (I'm not really interested in high SPL)? Or has someone had good experience with having a SUB in a small non-ideal room?

Comments:
Hedds go to 32hz and Focals to 40hz (+/- 3db)
I usually listen at low volume.
