Some days a go i got an email from a developer , in which i'm invited to show him my vsti licence , cause " I think some sounds you use in your song , are made with my vsti synth and i dont find you in my buyers database."

Fishing expedition from his part ?
I have some illegal vsti, but none from this developer ...
Should I be worried ?

 

He has no legal rights to ask or even to force you.
Many synth these days sounds pretty the same, so he can't tell you that it's made by his one.
He is trying to pull you..
Would be good to know which developer this is, so that we can spread this and stop buying
his software to support him. Same like these Tone2 asshole who added malware to his software.

I actually think that his request is criminal because of immoral or something like this.
He is no institution like the police and has no rights if you don't give him.
He tries to scare people to get information.
Ask him if he likes to get a letter from your lawyer.

You really should tell us his name !
If not he's gonna do that to others and might get what he want's
from people who really fall into that trap.
You would help to stop this illegal shit !

 

How would he know what name you used to register the plugin?
How does he know you didnt use a sample CD?
How would he know you haven't used a commercial studio? You could have recorded your track at Abbey Road FFS!
Is he sure it's his synth?

Of course he has no right to ask you this, whats an arsehole. Personally it would make me feel super aggressive so please tell us who it is? Must be a top loser, whatever next!

That smells like Marcus from Tone2. He's borderline insane, I think. I'm not using even his freeware stuff any more. Who knows what that cretin is capable of. Or maybe that idiot from Admiral Quality that makes that good synth with the most unusable GUI ever, Poly-Ana. He can shake hands with Marcus. The most insane VST developers, ever.

 

Ask him to show you proof of purchase of your song

 

No you don't have to be worried 99 % of all Sample kit's/sample library's are made from synth keyboards and VSTi so he should Heras all the sound library makers you don't see Roland or yamaha trying to sue sound library makers for using there sounds if you have a Sample that you used in your song from a Sample kit that guy is full of SHit ''
