If this utility work that UTiLiTY told us about for PowerShell doesn't work for me then I will for sure edit the host file. I'm sure this works great though.

I think that Shell script is just adding all the host file blocks automatically.

    WINDOWS - System32 - drivers - etc
a file called HOSTS should be in there and you open it with Notepad

Using a HOSTs editor would probably be easier. They are free. I use one called HOSTman or something like that.

Here's the adobe list that I use.

    127.0.0.1 lm.licenses.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 lmlicenses.wip4.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 lm-prd-da1.licenses.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 activate.wip4.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 practivate-da1.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 na1r.services.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 hlrcv.stage.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 uds.licenses.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 licenses.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 license.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 helpexamples.com
    127.0.0.1 activate-sea.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 activate-sjc0.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 ereg.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 na1r.services.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 activate.wip3.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 wip3.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 ereg.wip3.adobe.com
    127.0.0.1 wwis-dubc1-vip60.adobe.com

Keep in mind that additional blocking via your network tools (net-limiter, firewall (not defender)) may be needed. On your machine while OFFLINE (disable internet NIC), you'll want to fire up an adobe app while you have your firewalls' real-time network monitor running and see what that adobe app is calling up and what is trying to make a network connection. your network monitor should list what process(es) is/are attempting the connections. Then block them accordingly.

You should also check your start-up run list and your services panel as well because there are services no doubt running like the "adobe software protection/integrity service" "switchboard" updater, etc. The start up lines need to be removed for the offending processes and the services can be removed via command line by the command - "sc delete [service name]"...

You should also look at the Task scheduler list as well for anything "adobe" and disable it.

The HOSTS file is a "list" of network redirects that the system uses to determine an alternate course of action for a particular domain name. It is not a "program" per se. The HOSTS file is a text file and can be edited (added to or subtracted from) with any text editor - namely the resident one that comes with the win os called NotePad. You do not need a "special editor" to adjust this file. Just open the HOSTS file with NotePad and paste the list I gave you above into the active area (any line without a hash-tag in front of it) and save the file. Done.

As far as all the adobe services running on your box you'll need to deal with those as more than likely one or more of those things keeps pooching your install. As I said earlier, before anything else you will need to obtain a proper cracked version of PS before proceeding any further because a regular trial version (with no crack or patches) will never work (or work for long) or stop trying to phone home or asking for activation.

The hosts file tells your computer how to resolve hostnames such as adobe.com to an IP address that is used for network traffic.
Editing the hosts file works because you overwrite the legitimate internet IP address with an address pointing to your local machine (that 127.0.0.1 address) so the traffic can't go anywhere

Have they improved the adobe cracks so that one can get away with blocking adobe? I haven't installed a new version in a couple years, but before (at least since the 2019 versions) you actually had to have an adobe account (even if it was just for trial, or an expired subscription) logged in to prevent the software from closing itself, but then the cracks made everything work like full versions

I have no other comparison except for 2024 version. The last time I used Phootshop before that was around Photoshop 7

I think your best option is probably to download the latest monkrus version so you'll have proper instructions (they can be involved) and a known working version, and then reinstall everything. If not still on the sister site they're always available on that famous russian torrent site

That's correct. It adds an extensive list to the hosts file.

What a shame that it didn't work.

Did you use the CTT Utility to block Adobe in the hosts file, and THEN perform a clean install?

I have no idea if that will make a difference. Perhaps it might be worth a try. If not, it appears that the "monkrus" release might be a good way to go. Personally, I would use a proper Scene release, but that's just me :)

    NICE LIST!
I'll probably incorporate those with the ones I already use. I don't see much phoning home being done by adobe using that list. I take it that is what the script is supposed to adding to HOSTS?

Yes, correct. That list is what's applied to the hosts file after applying the CTT script. I have not added or removed anything whatsoever.

That's because "autorun" is a setup information file.
    Run the "Autoplay" application instead.

    Disable antivirus, re-download.
Latest 26.x version, turn off internet while installing.
