    Probably a Jupiter, OB or maybe a prophet... can't tell the details listening on a CIAphone.

    Hmmm... It does sound like a sampled small horn section, so i double ECR's estimation about the Synclavier. I have the album, this track 's highlight is BB King and SRV playing gtrs. Everything else is credited as played by S.Wonder, but with no further details.

    you see ? 50kg of expensive gear while today you could do it for free and sounding a lot better with a 300$ laptop and FL studio.

    It's the layering in Stevie's arrangement. The harmonica is the lead. That's what brings the horn-like attack to the syn chord. The pitch bent down on the syn chord is the character on the sustain.
