    Hey everyone,

Just had a quick question. I’ve always loved the sound of Steinberg’s RND Portico plugins (both the 5033 EQ & 5043 Compressor). As I can see, they’ve been discontinued for quite some time (I honestly have got no idea why) but some shops (and people) are still selling them (i.E.; Vintage King).

I suppose my question is this: can anyone venture a guess as to how this my work considering Steinberg has long abandoned their old-school eLicenser format to go “dongle-less?” I should add that I am using R2R’s version of Nuendo 14 as my main DAW. Can anyone tell me how this would work or how I’d go about activating the two plugins if I were to go ahead and add them to my arsenal?

    Thanks so much in advance!

Two things I can think of only.
First it is VST2 and even though you can add VST2 currently, at some point in the next few years they are likely to cease the VST2 button to add VST2.
Second, I doubt it will work with the way R2R's works unless they say so or release it themselves being a plugin, and the way V.R's works, it may work better in that with their emulated dongle though I have not and won't try. Same with V.R, if they release it, possibly?

People can try selling anything they want. It doesn't mean you will get it to work. I remember seeing people comment they got rather upset about the whole discontinuing of this particular pair of plugins. "just find a different version" is easier said than done with this one also, there are few substitutions available that make any sense to compare. Maybe you can get a version of it working, but there is probably no chance of future-proofing it. I definitely wouldn't buy a copy of it from someone. I would probably skip it entirely.

Cubase R2R (btw I’ve also have license for 15, but R2R version loads faster) version here, and eLicenser portico user.
Everything works fine, R2R silk emu has nothing to do with eLicenser stuff
