Btw, another free and slightly obscure tape saturation plugin that I never hear people talk about is SN03G by Sender Spike. It does saturation and pre/de-emphasis. You can get a really nice saturation going by cutting lows and boosting highs before the tape, and doing the opposite afterwards.

He also has a couple of other plugins worth trying. I especially like the two pedal emulations - Echobox D7 and Modul8.
