    Introducing the UR12
    2 x 2 USB 2.0 audio interface with 1 x D-PRE and 192 kHz support

Combining an extremely compact design, extraordinary build quality, full iPad connectivity and the outstanding
D-PRE mic preamp, the UR12 redefines quality for its class of 2-in 2-out USB interfaces. 24/192 converters offer
you outstanding levels of audio fidelity, while the D-PRE gives your microphone recordings incredible detail,
    depth and dynamics.

The front side of the UR12 interface comprises one Neutrik XLR connector for microphones, and a high-impedance
jack input, each with gain control and peak indicator. The panel also includes a headphones output, a master
output volume control together with a direct monitor switch for zero-latency monitoring of the input signal.
The rear panel features the analog RCA outputs, one USB 2.0 port and one mini USB port for connecting an optional
USB power adapter plus a +48 V phantom power switch on channel 1 and power source selector for both USB ports.

The UR12 guarantees pristine sonic fidelity due to the studio-grade converters that feature a maximum sample rate of
192 kHz and 24-bit resolution alongside the built-in discrete Class-A analog D-PRE microphone preamplifier by Yamaha.

Freely available as download to all UR12 customers, Cubase AI provides a comprehensive set of tools for recording,
mixing and editing audio. The UR12 is compatible with other major recording software applications, supports the iPad
in class-compliant mode and includes drivers for Windows and OS X systems.

Product marketing manager for hardware, Stefan Schreiber, commented: “Together with Yamaha, we’ve come up with an
extremely affordable interface that boasts an impressive feature set. If one adds its portable size, the all-metal casing
and superb audio quality to the bill it’s clear that the UR12 is the first choice for mobile setups and small-spaced
    recording studios.”

    Feature Summary:

    - 24-bit/192 kHz
    - One Class-A D-PRE mic preamp
    - Rugged metal casing
    - Major recording software compatible
    - iPad connectivity
    - Latency-free hardware monitoring
    - Power source selector
    - Loopback function
    - Cubase AI included

    @ TheDingus,

    Thanks for the Info. *yes*

Some interesting Features for 'nomad' Musicians at an affordable Price... but I really don't understand why 'Steinberg' doesn't provide at least 'Jack' Connectors  for the Output, and I don't even ask for 'XLR' Connectors, even if the final Price may reach a few extra tens of $.
Nothing against 'RCA Cinch' Connectors, but come on, Guys... in 2014, provide at least the option to also have the 'Standard Professional' +4dB ('Line' Level) via 'Jack' Outputs ! *yes*

I found that odd as well. The UR22 and UR44 don't even have RCA outputs. Why Steinberg chose to go with RCA's instead of TRS line outputs I have no idea. It would be interesting to learn why they went in that direction.

Considering the UR12 has taken the UR22's place as their lowest end audio interface, maybe they felt the RCA's would make more
sense to the consumer demographic the unit will appeal to:

Or as it can be seen as a 'Low-End' Audio Interface, maybe for consumers to be able to 'output' the Sound via a 'regular' Hi-Fi System (as in their Living Room, for instance) ? :dunno:

    @ TheDingus,

...and during that exact moment, I was searching for the following :

    GEORGE MICHAEL LYRICS
    "Monkey"

    Why Can't You Do It?
Why can't you set your monkey free?
Always giving in to it -
Do you love the monkey or do you love me?
    Why can't you do it
Why do i have to share my baby with a monkey?

    Oh i count to ten
But i don't know how and i don't know when
    To open my eyes
    If you kiss me again
Like you did just now, like you did just then -
    I've had the rest
Now it's time i had the best
So you tell me that you won't do anymore

Well i'd write your heart a letter
But i think you know me better
If i keep on askin' baby, maybe
I'll get what i'm askin' for

    Why can't you do it?
Why can't you set your monkey free?
Always giving in to it -
Do you love the monkey or do you love me?
    Why can't you do it
Why do i have to share my baby with a monkey?

    Oh i hate your friends
But i don't know how and i don't know when
    To open your eyes
    Yes the monkey's back again
Do you want him now like you did back then?
    I tried my best
But your head is such a mess
So i guess that i don't want you anymore

Well you say you care about me
That you just can't do without me
But you keep on dancin' baby
'Til that monkey has you on the floor

    Why can't you do it?
Why can't you set your monkey free?
Always giving in to it -
Do you love the monkey or do you love me?
    Why can't you do it
Why do i have to share my baby with a monkey?

    Don't look now
There's a monkey on your back
    Don't look now
    There's a monkey on you...
