So I installed Omnisphere fully, and Trilian, I patched Trilian and it all worked, I patch Omnisphere and it stops working, I end up trying a reinstall and it still won't work

so I fully reinstalled windows, I install omnisphere again and get to step 6b (after doing the exact instructions found here),

to both the

C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics
and the shortcut
+
E:\Spectrasonics\Spectrasonics\STEAM

and when I run omnisphere as administrator as per 6b, I keep getting the challenge code screen instead of it going black for a bit,and it says "Unable to access plugin folder at C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\Steam\Omnisphere. Check folder permissions.

So I did the same permissions solve instructions to that folder and still nothing.

I am sorry to ask but I am really stuck, I tried many times and just cant get it, I tried going back and doing the steam folder permission solve with the subfolder options checked but I get no change.

@breadd You did it wrong. I know, i know everyone has said the same thing, but when we get on TeamViewer it was not properly done. Moreover, why not obtain full permissions for the whole E: drive? Also, the folder hierarchy has 2 Spectrasonics folders. One of them is the subfolder. Whatever you did, you did not do it correctly. If you want, get TeamViewer and contact me by PM. and make sure you have the latest updates for everything.

 

I think you are right, I had it working before and am sure I am doing the same thing and just can't figure it out, if you would help me in teamviewer I would greatly appreciate it. I am installing it now, but your profile won't let me message you because I am so new to the forum I think

 

As already mentioned by 'The Pirate', you need admin rights for the VST parent & subfolders.
You should also ensure that the Spetrasonics folder is not set to read-only.

In the Windows 10 Registry under the Key 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Spectrasonics',
there should be four string entries:

Default (value not set)
32bitWindowsDLLFolder C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins
64bitWindowsDLLFolder Same as above most likely.
DataDirFolder C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics

Either patch the Omnisphere.dll in C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit\ or,
copy the patched Omnisphere.dll from your VST folder.

The C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit\ has to exist. Omnisphere will recreate
it after an error if needed. Found this out after moving everything to the VST install folder.
Stand-alone would load & crash. Pro Tools would give a 30001 error code & fail to load.

I used the 2.5 installer from 2015 as the 2.5.0d package had no installer.
Applied the latest updates:
- Software_Update_2_6_3c
- Patch_Library_Update_v2_6_0c
- Soundsource_Library_Update_2_6_1c
- Bob_Moog_Tribute_Patch_Library_Update_1_4e
Loaded Omnisphere to get 'Challenge' code & then closed.
Ran keygen to patch Omnishphere.dll in both locations & generate 'Response' (highlight & copy).
Loaded Omnisphere again & pasted 'Response' code (exit as instructed if successful).
Load Omnisphere again & all should be working.

Thank you for trying, I talked to The Pirate and he said he would help me via teamviewer today, thank you for confirming theres nothing wrong with my registry keys, I am at a loss for whats going wrong with my reinstall and the way it worked the first time and then not the second had me worried about the registry but I guess its as it should be. I patched both dlls, and tried the read only trick to no avail.

I hope its just something I overlooked/missed and The Pirate can fix it today

 

I want to point out that there is no need for the folder itself to not be set as "Read only" Indeed, I have installed Omnisphere dozens of times , and the folder always remains set as "Read only" With that said, the .DAT files, and DLLs CAN'T be set to read only. Trying to change the "Read only" setting of the folder will drive those trying to install Omnisphere crazy.

I'm trying to install Omnisphere in Windows 10 but I get the error: " F:|Spectrasonics|STEAM|Omnisphere|Defaults|default|multi.mlt_omn" "access denied".
Could anybody help?
