I cannot speak from experience unfortunately, but I find this one extremely interesting: Behringer X AIR XR12.

THIS link explains it quite well.
    No, the idea is different:
You not only skip the fat multicore cable, but rather do the whole mixing on-stage.
Your mixing desk is your laptop or even tablet next to your pint of beer in front of you sitting at the bar. You could even walk around the event location, listen at different sound locations and fine-adjust EQ settings etc.
Ath least in theory, if you do a lot of live concerts, this looks like it could save you a whole lotta work and gear to shift around.

The easiest way is to integrate the snake to the interface
if you have an adat port interface the cheapest thing is the behringer 8000 or 8200.
but if you have analog gear you can make one. I done mine with 32 channels (some ports for drum sensors), with a cheap and good behringer patchbay I can easeky use the best of my gear with the chain I want before the interface.
Please by one that accept p10 and phantom power.

    I was surprised too!
And I love the SonicState reviews, Nick Batt is one of the few reviewers who "go deeper" than most reviewers. The critical SoundOnSound reviews we know from yesterday is what Nick does on youtube today.

These do work well, several sound guys in my area use them. It would make an awesome audio interface for Recording as well.
They have great videos that show you everything that it will do on the Behringer web site. You should check them out. I'm on my third year mixing live with a digital audio interface and a computer, no complaints.

Had the XR-18 for a few months and loved it. I believe, at least a year ago, only the XR-18 allowed individual input recording. The XR-12, 16 only allows 2 tk recordings.
