Can someone explain what’s the meaning of this?

[.. Multiple parameters can be controlled simultaneously and precisely, equipping you with a production tool that nurtures muscle memory, provides unmatched sonic flexibility and inspires operator confidence…]

Basically it should be a midi controller for two SSL plugins
    huh? That's all?
Considering the $849 pricetag I would expect something more. From what I understand it doesn't work with anything other than their 2 plugins. Yes, the design is beautiful, surely you can impress friends with it, but in the end it looks like pointless gear, but maybe I'm wrong.

FL studio 20 is the first or second most used Daw by Producers rivaling Ableton, why is it never supported? I don't understand.

I think it has to do with how the daw is coded, it is easy to implement some daws more than other, and some aren't even supported, Fl studio has always been behind, do you remember how we had to unpack waves shells to use their plugins? waves had to collaborate with imagine line to bring support lol...

that being said, fl studio if more producing oriented daw, while cubase pro tools and logic are popular mixing daws, probably that's why.

Well I think that when you are the first or second most used DAW in the world there should be support or at least have conversations with them, it seems that because they are SSL they do not have to go behind companies with less renown, is my preception, it is not only SSL, Novation and other companies.

Indeed, a bit expensive for a dedicated plug in controller but this isn't the first time that a company has been doing this:
Look at Softube with the console 1...

I've always had doubts about the usefulness of that controller (my opinion), in any case Console 1 controls 70+ plug-ins from Softube and Universal Audio. This from SSL can only control 2 plugins and the price is higher. SSL is famous for the quality of its mixers, preamps, eqs and compressors, but now we are talking about a plastic box with some chinese midi encoders on it: there are no quality audio components inside.
Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe this UC1 is a blatant overpriced gimmick

It is all in the name. Like a Rolls Royce Ghost. A BMW 750 IL clothed and branded as a Rolls but costing 4 times more than a BMW. SSL is like Neve, and API, to name a couple. Anything bearing those names will come with a hefty price tag. In this case, we can't blame SSL. Limiting the UC1 to SSL plugins is a wise business decision. Indeed, why would SSL support its own competitors? Moreover, you have to factor in licensing agreements. Not every developer wants to enter into such agreements with a competitor. Furthermore, generic controllers are all over the place, so I guess SSL did not want to become another and it should not. Finally, this is geared toward those who love the SSL sound, want a dedicated controller, and either want to stay in the box for the sake of workflow or can't afford an XL Series or G Series console which will cost at least $25,000 dollars. Even a hardware G Series comp will cost you $3,000-$4000 dollars. To those, $850 is not as bad as it seems to some of us.
Before I go I want to note that just because something is made in China it does not mean that is shit. As from every part of the world, there are quality and bad products made in China. Focal is a perfect example.

Oh, I didnt realize that you had already posted this news. This UC1 SSL gives me the idea that instead of solving problems it can become just another nuisance on the console. In my audio setup, apart from the really necessary gear, there must be plenty of space for a bottles of champagne in the ice bucket and trays with foie gras canapés: any unnecessary electronic gadget disturb me.

if they are going to add FL support for this thing, it better control The Sauce, and have some presets from that guy.

Looks great but ultimately just a expensive controller . I would consider it if it supported other 3rd party plugs having brought the plugin alliance bx ssl and was cheaper . You can buy a 500 series ssl deal for cheaper There’s a full ssl £700 on reverb . With the other options out there I think it’s over priced since rock audio have made a dedicated controller and the softtube console one .

What boggles my mind is why PA isnt doing this? They have the resources. Their controllers would probably cost less as well and be just as good and serve many of their channel strips.

PA said they would support the rock audio controller as it runs there plugins . Would be good if they made there own dedicated controller but I suppose they would have to design something that would accommodate all the plugin designs .

Agree! At that price you would expect an audio interface to be part of this unit. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the development of this product & their plugins. Just not the price.

Also like the UF8. Not the price. Judging by retail discounts, it would seem that purchased units are low.

Been holding out hoping Nektar would update the P1 feature set nut, after almost two years I can't wait any longer. The P series if almost 4 years old now.

More interested in the Channel Strip 2 to be honest.

I don't think so. May be in actuality, this is true. But FL is like 1st or 2nd most pirated DAW and so the official user database may not be that big.
