Good price for those who need to be legit, running a studio or other reasons.

Hmz interesting. I'm curious how the bus comp holds up against the Waves one and Cytomic The Glue (or the UAD one perhaps). But man, that retail price .. $479 (or even more, bought separated) .. are they made from gold or what?

Last time I compared Waves, The Glue, and the older [audioutopia] SSL Native, I found technical [VST Analyzer] differences to be absolutely in favour of The Glue. When it comes to sound, to my ears The Glue sounded the best, then SSL, and the Waves the worst. However, the most important thing is the user/mixer. If used right, all three can get you great results.

SSL claims better DSP in this newer version, though, so it could sound closer to The Glue now. I still haven't checked, but I'm certainly going to. I've always been a fan of SSL sound - their hardware products always shine for edgier/indie productions.

Just my 2p.

a bit off topic but if you like The Glue and you are Ableton user, you already have it (also Cytomic's algo on EQ Eight)



And for others (and a reminder for myself), always check the stock plugins!

 

Try giving the bx_townhouse a try, it brings the whole song forward in a very musical way, can strongly recommend that one

Wasn't referring to that number specifically.... just in general. Was engaging in hyperbole for a point. I used $49.99 as that seems to be a go to discount pricing in general by companies, which I shouldn't have done because then you thought i talking about solid state logic's pricing, which I was not, heh
