that's a good sounding pad for sure, I can't exactly say how I would do it since theres a ton of reverb wrapping everything up but I'd play with detuning and stretching bell/mallets samples (since I dont own one of these toys:

)

 

The quick way would be to check some late 90s synths, the way the notes shift kinda sounds like out of a korg triton or similar, even if it's not. There's a patch in roland's JV-1080 called dawn 2 dusk that sounds very simlar when played at low velocities, and with some fiddling around could get you pretty close.

If you want to build it from scratch, i'd say it's just a combination of choir sounds. Female oohs for the lower notes, and some heavily distorted (by reverb) high pitch voices for that weird glassy thing on top.

 

Absynth 5 sound mutations are interesting for strange sounds like this. It was on V4 though, when this film was being made.
