SPL make cool stuff bet this is no exception & also at a decent price *yes*

    6 + 6 channels in/out.

USB 3.0 bandwidth not really an issue? That why i imagine it USB 2?

Leaving cost aside I imagine they want their product to be compatible with as many users as possible.

Also possibly if aimed at Home/bedroom producers how many of them really need 40+ whatever channels of multiple analog I/O etc which is where the bandwidth that USB 3 can handle comes into effect.

Would just in effect push the price up loads in effect possibly making it not cost-effective for the audience they trying to target.

It's possibly USB 2.0 because USB 2.0 can do the job just fine for this interface with little or no significant advantage being offered via USB 3 implementation whilst keeping a specific target audience in mind?

  7. USB data transfer velocity means almost nothin' with audio interface, the latecy depends on many other factors.

it's the german equivalent of "channels"

    Exactly,

USB 3.0 # lower latency rates - just more bandwidth for I/O/DSP.

It may in certain cases even degrade latency which not mean it "Automatically" the best choice.

Drivers more important & many manufacturers don't even develop their own.

usb 3.0 is simply not stable enough, many motherboards where released, even this year with usb 3.0 ports that simply don't work or behave like they should until the bios is upgraded.

IF I was a hardware manufacturer, I would stick as long as I can to the 2.0 standard. it will pay out/cost less in the long run....

Can't understand why people moan about it being USB 2, I'm sure its more than enough just like USB 1 is on a lot of other audio devices.

    Looks really nice btw!

Don't know how this topic changed to a USB2,3 debate! I thought krismiller was thinking of FireWire.
It's the USB protocol which is the overhead in processor burdon, whatever the bandwidth. Firewire has the advantage over USB.

Has anyone checked out the new Arturia - AudioFuse?
