WHERE LONDON CELLISTS ARE CONCERNED CHRIS IS THE VIBE MASTER GENERAL. SPITFIRE BRINGS COOL TO YOUR SOLO INSTRUMENT ARSENAL. STARTING
WHERE ANDY’S KIT BAG LEFT OFF THIS IS THE NEXT CHAPTER IN OUR SERIES OF ULTRA INSPIRATIONAL VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS RECORDED IN OUR SPECIAL DRY SPACE.

Adopting techniques we learned and perfected with the hugely successful "Andy Findon - Kit Bag", Spitfire leads on with the next instalment in our vibe-range, our personality led, performance oriented sampled virtual instruments that are finding their way onto award winning recordings the world over.

Centred around a sophisticated virtual instrument with a host of "artisan" phrases, standard and additional techniques, including "performance vibrato" that gives you a realistic sounding presentation of the instrument out-of-the-box. Spitfire believe they have encapsulated the very soul that is Chris. A man who always brings a distinct element of cool to our sessions. The on-trend cello style we're all looking for from searing emotion to heart breaking timidity.

    "Special Dry Place"?

I thought they only had a "Special Wet Place"?*

*I meant the Air Lyndhurst Hall. I don't know what you thought with your dirty mind.

(I still haven't understood why he plays 3 note chords with a solo cello... Or with the non-divisi sections of Mural or whatever for that matter. I can only understand it in Sable, since with that you wouldn't get an overwhelming section sound but you should still probably do it on another track)

For full section patches I agree it makes no sense but why not for solo cellos ? When I'm going for an intimate section feel, I actually use solo strings and play several notes at the same time. It gives you an "intimacy" you don't get with divisi or section patches

I mean if you actually want it to be a solo cello. But you still won't get a real section sound by stacking solo instruments. Anyway... If it works, it works.

Looking these two demos through I must admit SF has (once again) done what they´re best at! Orchestral instruments!!!! And these two libs really fill up a gap!!!

    In other words:

    Amazing libs - respect!

Would be great if some string library finally offered us double stops. *yes*

Double stops are different stuff Andrew!!! In many cases you can do most of them just by playing several notes at the same time!!

Double stops give you different timbre than regular arco, since each note is played on different string. If SF recorded Sul G - Sul E (for instance on a Violin), then true double stops would be possible.
Combining open strings with stopped ones, that's what's happening in real concerto

Hmmm ... never really have had that close look into the issiue regarding upen and closed strings with SF stuff! All I can say is that I´ve played violin and bratch for many years now, and done a lot of different double stops over the years, and when I´ve tested this with SF libs they´ve always sounded real!

There are FEW libraries that contain recorded open strings. If you have Symphonic Sphere in your repository, there are opens recorded for each section.
I'm not questioning SF libs, that stuff speaks for itself.

If only they were so meticulous about communication. I wrote them few e-mails and didn't get a response for over a week.
