If that is the case, there is likely some strange / esoteric problem with your Windows 10 installation, and will probably not be possible to fix from a forum thread.

Unless there are some kind of non default / non standard system policies on your system, or non default / non standard firewall rules, you may have to reinstall Windows 10 clean in order to fully resolve this.

Just copy the omnisphere dll and keygen to a thumb drive. Connect the thumb drive to another computer and run the keygen and patch the dll, then copy it back to your vst folder. Open omnisphere copy the challenge code, and use the keygen on the other computer to generate. done.

 

Important:
There are min.3 different installation paths where the WIN installer deposits the original Omnisphere.dll, one of them can be patched with the KeyGen without any errors

First find “ the right .dll to pach “ in these paths:


C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins
C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit
C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins

 

The OP problem is not finding the .dll to patch. The OP problem here is that the KG does NOT run in his or her system. @momo offered the OP a well-thought-out solution which makes it possible for the OP to use Omnisphere but still does NOT solve the KG issue. That is the problem we are trying to solve.

@TranceDream I have a question that has not been asked. Have you tried running the KG for a totally different program than Omnisphere? It would be interesting and helpful to find out whether your system rejects ALL KG's or the problem is specific to the Spectrasonics KG. I am ignorant as to the inner workings of different KGs but if the problem is limited to Spectrasonics KG and its operating requirements differ from those of a KG that does work in your system someone like @momo would be able to diagnose what is wrong with your system.

@TonyG , not only omnisphere, also other R2R keygens don't run .

For example i downloaded IK Multimedia Bass and it has same type keygen and it doesn't run too , really major problem

 

I had the same problem on my win 7 some years ago i just created a new user account logged into that and i could open all keygens that i couldnt open on my usual account.

 

That is not good news at all. Did you create a system image right after the installation of Windows 10 or are you able to reset it to Factory Condition ? I ask because if you reset it and the KG works that means that something went wrong afterwards. If the KG still does not run, that means that your system was corrupted from the time of the original Windows installation. I know that you can repair your Windows 7 by reinstalling it without losing your programs. If you can do the same with Windows 10 my suggestion is to FIRST clone your C: drive and repair it. I found these instructions:

If you can get into Windows, press the shift key whilst clicking Restart to get to the Windows Recovery Environment
If you cannot get into Windows, start your PC, then just as Windows attempts to load, press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a hard shut down
Do this twice
On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt . . . etc.
Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC
You will then have 3 options:

1. Keep my files and Apps
2. Keep my files
3. Keep nothing

Select the option that suits your needs and click Reset

For best results make sure your device is not connected to the Web and unplug all USB devices.

 

TranceDream, there was a time when all R2R keygens needed you to edit your host file or to execute the cmd file to block a particular website call R2R.com.

 

Not applicable in this case. The KG in those instances did open regardless of whether the sites had been blocked or not. The host file requirement was to effectuate the authorization. Nothing more than that. In the case of the OP the KG does NOT open at all.

 

Excellent suggestion. If you do open another user account make sure you run it as a Super Administrator Account as I suggested earlier.

I'm running 2048.exe via "Cross Over" Wine Bottle 7, on a Mac Mojave. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

so you're running a windows keygen program, made to patch DLL's, on OSX and you're wondering why patching fails???

 

I didn't update to Mojave till now. I am not sure what is going on. May be you need to change the Keygen. But frankly speaking I am not sure.
