Hello friends.
As the title implies, I installed Spectrasonics Trilian v1.6.4d WIN-R2R.
The installation went normally according to the note given.

Then this message appears when I want to activate :
Data properties file not found for Trilian. A possible explanation is that the installation was not completed properly (Trilian patch data need to be upgraded to version 1; review installation procedure and install the version 1 data)

The activation went smoothly and successfully.
I tried to open it from the DAW and the same message appeared again.
But I can still use it normally. I tried to export and there was no problem.

The appearance of the Steam folder is as follows:



The question is, is the pop up message like that normal?
Is there a definite solution regarding this?

It looks like you only installed the application but are missing the sample and preset data that needs to reside in the Steam folder?

 

I'm not sure. All I know is that I can use all the presets normally on Standalone and DAW.
I can export too from DAW.
Just pop up message that I'm talking about makes me curious.

 

Not sure whats wrong but in the splash screen you should also see soundsources and patches:



Run diagnostics and see if it can find the Steam folder?



Maybe try to reinstall the application and then make sure it finds the Steam folder during the process?

I did. This is the result before I uninstalled and re-installing.


Then I reinstalled the app/plugin. Then this appeared :


Then I navigated to the Steam default folder where I installed the library/preset.
But it still doesn't work and appears like this :


How can it be invalid? Because I installed it right there (I used the default save location).

Then I changed the name from STEAM to Steam. But it still didn't work.


When I tried to cancel it, this appeared :


I've also tried changing the "write permission" on the folder and it still doesn't work.

After uninstalling and reinstalling, now I can't even enter the splash screen like before and can't use Trilian like before at all. OMG.


What do you think?

This is the version that I installed. Is there anything wrong?

I finally used System Restore and went back to yesterday's setup, where I had not installed Trilian at all.
Then I tried reinstalling everything (Trilian) from scratch.
And this message still appeared:

But at least I can still use it normally on my DAW.

Anyways, could this be due to a version out of sync between the plugin and the library?

Click on 'Get updates' in the splash screen and check in the list if you have the latest versions. Should be:

Software 1.6.4d
Soundsources v1.0.1
Patches v1.6.0.c

If that's correct. Right click on the trilian.exe and run it as administrator.

 

When I click 'Get updates' on the splash screen, it automatically opens my browser and redirects me to :
updates.spectrasonics.net
Is it really like that?

I still turn off my internet when I open Trilian.

you have two steam folders there. delete the empty one. leave the shortcut that leads to where everything is stored.

 

No, I think the other one is the 'link' (shortcut).

 

yeah, it's linked to location of all the files. only keep that one. This is how it looks like on my PC. The shortcut is linked to where I keep all 1 trillion GB of STEAM data on other drive.

Hello, thank you for responding.
I have deleted the shortcut, but the problem is still there.
I can only delete that shortcut. The other folder named STEAM is where I store the library by default.

If connecting to updates.spectrasonics.net will be safe, I will do it and let you know the results.

It looks similar to mine. It's just that mine has a default location on drive C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics
And I currently only have Trilian installed.

 

There's one absolute working fix for this. I did that 3 times already I guess all these years. I don't really like to fix here and there when it comes to omnisphere's installation. database problem ? i just reinstall the latest patch update or software update. then scan. if everything failed, I reinstall everything back. I kinda depend a lot on Omnisphere (keyscape, trilian etc) so I need it to be fully working every time or else I can't work so I tend to go for the easiest route that I know will work.

I just delete the Trilian folder inside the STEAM folder and redownload the 33GB folder back. It only take 30mins (500Mb/sec internet speed) or so through torrent. 100% working. you can find it at the russian tracker. if you don't have access or don't know how, PM me i send you the torrent file and you can download it yourself.

That makes sense.

It's the same with me. Especially Trilian.

For now, it will be very difficult for me. Given that my internet service provider (ISP) is very bad and I often rely on other ISPs from my smartphone. I think it's impossible for now.
My internet has a quota limit and FUP of course.
Due to many technicalities regarding the internet and its quota, I don't use torrents, I'm sorry. I use the internet very limited.

wait, why your STEAM folder so small in size ? it should be atleast 33GB in size for Trilian library alone. Mine is 250GB but I got everything installed.

people always store the STEAM folder someplace else because you need the application (DAW or Trilian Standalone) to have the write permission (which by running them as admin) to files in that folder if it is store at the "ProgramData" folder. You can't make the file in the ProgramData to be writeable because it is Windows Security feature or some sort that make it only admin can write files in it.

Try running Trilian standalone as admin (right-click run as admin) and see if you can set the STEAM folder again. If it works it means you need to run the DAW as admin to work with Trilian, also you can copy the STEAM folder someplace else and create a shortcut and paste it inside the Spectrasonics folder like (I assume) most of people here do.

 

The size of your Steam folder looks OK. Since you deleted the shortcut in c:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\. Try this: right click on your Steam folder and create a new shortcut. Remove the ' - Shortcut' bit so you'll only have 'Steam' as the name.
If you also have a folder c:\Program Files\Spectrasonics and/or c:\Program Files (x86)\Spectrasonics copy the shortcut and put in there as well. Open Trilian now and see if it works?

If it still displays the "Data properties file not found for Trilian...." you may need updates for your patches and soundsources.

You can also move the Steam folder to another location. You'll just have to make the shortcut from that location and do the above.

For instance I keep mine on separate SSD g:\Program Files\Spectrasonics\Steam\.

 

Actually, from the beginning, I've always run as admin for everything. Including my DAW by default I setup with run as administrator.
And all the installations I use right click then run as administrator with Windows Defender disabled.

Well, I finally uninstalled Trilian again with Revo Uninstaller as usual.
Then because I was curious, I tried installing Keyscape to test whether my system was at fault or not.
This time I tried to install everything in D:\Spectrasonics\STEAM




And it worked without any problem as shown in the picture.

Then I tried to install Trilian again on D:\Spectrasonics\STEAM.


However, this pop-up message still reappeared on Trilian only.
How did that happen?
I didn't do anything different but Keyscape installed successfully and Trilian still has the pop up message problem.

On Trilian, I have tried two different apps. from R2R and then from MORiA, both still produce pop up messages:

Even though I installed it on the D drive (not the default as the C Drive).

The good news so far, despite the pop up message, Trilian is still functioning normally in the DAW and I can still work on the Bass instrument and export it with no problem.
I don't know if there will be any new problems later?
And I wonder if I'm the only one experiencing this with Trilian?

but it still doesn't work.

I've tried installing it on a different drive. What do you think?

Good to hear you moved your Steam folder and it's at least still functional as before.

I still suspect you need to update Trilian patches and/or soundsources? Have you check with 'Get Updates' yet? Then you can see exactly what version you have installed and what is the latest.
