haha same, i mean without any soundsets for omni, you can barely find something, when you have not prepicked some presets you liked, because there are way to many!
And now add another bunch of presets - for me thats an overkill.

Omnisphere worked fine with Trillian and Moog satellites, it worked fine a Q4_2012 AMD CPU with SSD. no sluggish behaviour.
Only thing was Keyscape was due to not having the space on the SSD, but on the HDD not usable, bcs the HDD was to slow, but this was already known before i installed it.

What else is added in v2.8?

I made a couple of sound banks, for free!
Please take a look at the picture below, this is how I play my presets, the browser is too big for me.

I need it because i think it will be very useful in my arsenal and from every review i had watched, it is indeed an excellent synth
bought it immediately, and now i am going to sale my SPIRE, THORN, and others.

Congratulations on your new Omnisphere Power Synth. That's the nice thing about music, it's never boring.

Anyone else not a fan of Omnisphere? I know it's the "de facto" synth for everyone and their uncle's nan, but I felt it never kind of sits right in a mix. In most patches the sound is "too huge" and there's something about its sonic character that's off - and to find the patches you want, you'd
have to waddle through 14,000 patches. Yeah, you can "program it" if you have the time, but then why would you need 14k presets? :dunno:

Also, I get majorly overwhelmed using it...there's just too much. :woot:

I do have Keyscape (boxed copy!) and while it sounds gorgeous, it has a similar issue I feel. UVI's stuff suffers from the same problem. It's not until you strip the sounds of their internal compressors etc. the sounds become useable.

You sound like you would pick a Nord Stage over a Virus. Yes?

    such people exist.

I would actually prefer a Stage.

I'm not saying Virus is a bad synth by any means, but I've got synths aplenty already so to me playability would be the thing.

Built-in effects are the cardinal sin of many instruments. Everything tuned to eleven. Impressive when played alone but in the mix... as you said, just remove the FX.

Every synth should have a "global FX off" switch when browsing presets.

Upgrading over and over... worth the trouble? I used to think it was magick! Now I'm happy with OBX free, often. Go figure. Sheeeet, mon.
