They seem to be advertising as a "3 becomes 4", so that tells me it is not anything similar or an update or upgrade to RMX, Omnisphere or Trilian, but rather something totally new.

No idea what it is, but a Spectrasonics modular synth plugin would be pretty epic! :)

Spectrasonics bought Steinberg, Microsoft and Apple. And court banned all Linux distributions. Therefore, from now on, there will be only a global platform.

Business related, only Hardware would make any sense, all their products have been hacked and they have very long product cycles.
How would you survive with 3 products (or 4 with Omni 2 as a new product ) within like 10 years? The Company cost money every month!
I really like Spectrasonics integrity and they were way ahead of competition like 10 years ago.

Because of many videos abt Omni i went legit and bought Omni 2 when it came out, to support Eric Persing.
Spectrasonics must survive , so i hope the best from them and the new product.

From an interview with Eric Persing, February 10, 2015 - Computer Music.

    "What's next for Spectrasonics?

We're super excited to have a lot of things in the works. We've got things in the works for Trilian, and also RMX - we haven't forgotten about rhythm! - so there's a long future for all the things we do. And there'll be new instruments, too - not just the three we've done, but new ones."

yeah, I agree with their own version of a DAW,

or something voice & sampling / vocal oriented.

there was one EQWL app I liked that I cannot use anymore because of OS upgrades, that was wordbuilder.
it wasn't that much realistic, but with a bit (a lot) of work, you could manage to get some intelegible choral phrases
( i mean, more than the ooohs and aaahs that you can get with every cinematic voice libraries )

If it's the case, I feel sorry for myself because I had this idea first :bleh:
or btw, if someone knows a developer whos interested in the creation of a voice software, let me know

or also maybe they've gone 'the hard way' like native instruments and developed a controler

anyway, can't wait to see what this is about

I "tried" Omnisphere, was not impressed. Why? Most of the sounds are really random. And if you are about sound design, there are already an infinite amount of samples. There was NOT a single normal piano in a 30-40-50 GB library or whatever that is.
But I see its value for other people, there's really lots of sounds and they can inspire easily

Let's see how cool this will be. I'm betting on some kind of new synthesis or something like that

I don't want to derail the thread or anything, but Kontakt is *horrible* as a sampler. The interface is uninspiring, ugly, horrific; to change even the simpliest parameters you have to open another window; routing is as fun as putting a finger in your arse; etc. There are way better alternatives if you want a sampler. What Kontakt is good for, it's the libraries.

Now go ahead and lynch me, that's just my opinion anyway. I barely understand how people says "Kontakt best sampler ever"

I have a gut feeling it will be some kind of wind instrument. I hope I am wrong, but my stomach tells me it might be a fartmachine.

Personally speaking I do not like Kontakt as a sampler at all. On GUI thingy i am with you, the interface is ugly as hell. There is not much for you to change the things+ Plus for those Knob things one can require a whole lot of Programming skills. How the hell a producer/Musician suppose to possess programming skills at first place to use that shit

A good virtual guitar! This is completely missing in the Spectrasonics products catalog.
And something like the PPG Phonem virtual singer.
