I have noticed this technique in a video of Spectralayers Pro. Back then I thought this is an advanced technique that is widely used, but I did not see it appearing too often in mixing methods, that surprised me. I was planning to use it when the solo and singing goes together in my songs. As I interpreted it can help in those cases, but I am not sure if this is correct.
