    Dear.

I have following problem in Cubase 12. I have MOTU audio card and there is ADAT, Analog and also SPDiF in and out.
And on audio device list there is of course SPDiF as out and in and it's checked as active.
But problem is when I want to make audio connections. To make SPDiF as stere out I can use left channel only. On the output list there is no right channel so I can use only one of them (left) and can't connect right (and it plays only left one). And I can't find any solution how to solve this issue.
Can someone check if this is not my problem only.
Important - Studio1 and other software use SPDiF as they should - stereo out is normal and both channels play as they should.

This was a while ago, so I don't know if you have figured it out, if you click the little triangle next to Stereo Out, you can specify the outputs for the left and right channels independently. Occasionally this happens, I am not sure why, it may have to do with how the outputs are enumerated within Cubase, thus it doesn't recognize your SPDIF L and SPDIF R as a stereo pair upon first assigning it to a bus. It has happened to me, and subsequent assignments later it seems to remember, but YMMV. I do recall this behavior throughout the many years I have used Cubase, so as a best practice, when I am creating new busses or assigning different outputs to an existing bus, I always double check by clicking that triangle to expand the channel list and make sure they're all assigned correctly.

You have to also make sure the audio channel you are sending SPDIF audio to is not a MONO channel. Otherwise it only has 1 side to connect the incoming stereo signal from SPDIF connection to it. Mono is always Left side only.

I don't know how but ... how I can see also right channel so SPDiF input and output works as normal. Strange.
But thank you guys for tip!

Did you already read this thread on the Cubase forum? https://forums.steinberg.net/t/s-pdif-input/664329/5

Your problem is certainly within Cubase settings. A lot of things can be other sources of issue with digital connections. You have this narrowed down to only Cubase. The solution to your issue is detailed in there, because they seem to have covered almost everything.

Check audio connections that your bus is created as stereo and set to spdif left and right. If not, just delete it and create new one. Not sure about motu, but check also mixer software, if it has one..

That part should be ok. If it can lock one side to the output device (monitors, etc) the cable and sync are good. Plus the other daws working correctly.
