some answers regarding the situation on spam..

AudioSEX is not becoming a spam heaven. all usually spam gets deleted within 4 hours, spammers gets banned.

no, it has nothing to do with the name.
people make big money on spam, so they have their methods.

there are no mods... just me.

as always, when you about to create something, there are many people shouting "i will help! i'm the best! i will do everything!!", but once the time comes, i'm left alone, as usual.

the bottom line is, very unfortunately, there is nothing i can really do to stop this spam.
those bastards are not bots, they are real people.

let's hope that time will give us a solution, but for now, i see no reason for my members to bother about it

    Are you sure?
On other forums I have never seen such spam going on as here, I think not even one single time :dunno:

there are certain techniques which i haven't implemented yet, but mostly - yes.

spammers won't post on poorly optimized forums, which have bad search engine recognition.

so, from this point, the fact that AudioSEX attracts so much spam is actually a good thing

Ok, thanks for your hard work, SAiNT.

Is it a help for you, if we report spam posts, or do you check anyway?

    i always appreciate reports and feedback;
however i do find most of it myself through View New Content link.
although sometimes spammers post their shit as comments, and those i can miss because i can't cover 100% of new comments *no*

Ok, so If I see spam as a comment in a thread, I will report it, otherwise not.

If you ban a spammer, does it just ban the actual nickname, or also his IP-address?

Can we volunteer to be a mod? I could delete spam messages when I encounter them if I had the possibility. Just the permission to delete posts is enough.

it bans everything - IP, nickname, email... but it doesn't matter, because they using proxy and other stuff.

volunteers are welcomed, but the problem is that this job requires my trust, and my trust requires a lot of time...

Fair answer. Trust can't be forced, it only can be earned.

hey i have one question about the report function...
what happens if several users report the same topic to you? do you receive several messages or just one (as it could be reported for several reasons by several users)?
in the case you receive several messages, do you think it useful to add "reported" as a reply in the topic to inform other members that it is useless to do so again.

    thanks to enlighten me =)

lysergyk, i receive one report for each subject, with member's comments (reports) inside. *yes*
right this moment me and my programmer are working to implement one cool protection thing, which will hopefully help with our problem.
if it will, then you'll only have to report bad and offensive comments

this lock thingy seems to be a pretty good idea...and it's actually the first time I see it used on a website to register!
i dont know if a bot can activate it (probably) but i reckon 99.9% wont!
    audiosex...always a step ahead!
