    Hell-o to all !

I would need help/ advice from our great community.

    I'm tired of receiving spam.

So my question is how to delete Spam on the server (pop) before they were downloaded on the application " Mail " on Mavericks ?

Is there a trick or an application integrated to Mail (Mavericks) able to do that ?

By thanking you in advance :mates:

There is a junk section in Mail preferences.

Your mail provider should put the junk flag on these, and mail handle them just fine.

If you're self hosted and you don't know (or aren't interested in learning) how to use an antispam : switch it to a redirect to Gmail box or Yahoo or Yandex or whatever : they deal with it pretty well.

To be honest over the past 12 months, I very rarely look at my email accounts, except when I am joining a site which requires verification. Since I had to replace my hard drive a few months ago, I have not even installed an email client. My few accounts that I use all appear to have lots and lots of spam and I just don't want to waste my time going through the pages of rubbish.

A good alternative is to use other online Mail services like this one:
    Code:
    www.fastmail.fm
With one finger-snip you can erase all unwanted junk-mail.
As far as I know there's no way to block spam with Apple's Mail, BEFORE
    the junk arrives to you.

Guys, check Boxbe.com, I 'm using it since few years and it's a perfect addon to filter loads of things.

    Cheers

There are two levels/types of spam filter: server-side filtering (your service provider) and client-side filter (your mail client which in this case is Apple Mail).

    Server-side filtering
See what spam filtering options are available server-side by the email provider. Most have automated spam filtering and also let you manually create filters. If they don't have these two features or they aren't working well for you, switch to a different email provider.

    Client-side filtering
Apple mail has it's own built-in automated spam filter (make sure you enable "Junk Mail filtering") and allows you to manually create filters that can help you target specific spam mail. One thing that I've noticed over the years when helping people with Apple Mail is that it is usually set to "Mark Junk messages as Junk", but leaves them in the Inbox. If that is what is happening to you, just go into the options and set Apple Mail to always move junk mail out of your Inbox and into a junk folder.

    Good luck!

You could try MyPopBarrier (free) https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/22739/mypopbarrier <--- that developer updates the app regularly.

    Also:

    MailboxManager https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/21366/mailboxmanager
