Developer Sovndspear presents a new plug-in called Supertube. This is an unorthodox take on a dynamics processor (compressor). Rather than a particular hardware unit, Supertube simulates tube compression. It goes at it deep, letting you adjust several tube parameters on the fly. It’s not the most exhaustive virtual tube model I’ve ever seen, but you don’t really need that much parameter control to cook up some sweet tube sounds. The price is very fair, too – just EUR 25 during the introductory period, then it’s EUR 35.
