Looking to explore the sharp/ rising and falling synth sound. Ive done some reading and found a few lists of gear that Source Direct using during their height. The JV1080 seems to be the best lead so far, but any pointers would be appreciated.

JV1080 or not, 99.9% sure whatever that sound started as ended up in either their Roland, EMU or Akai sampler and was heavily fucked with. Can't tell if it's reversed or there's just a weird envelope on it, there's a delay, some filtering, etc that's probably all baked into a sample. The base sound sounds like its a simple saw 'string' but it's the 'shape' of the sound that makes it.

They also had a Poly 800, an Orbit, a Matrix 1000, and a few bits of outboard gear and a big Mackie 8 bus they ran everything through before it went to the samplers.
