You're really not missing out on much. They're good plugins and tons of pros still use them, but that comes more from a place of familiarity than anything.

Back around 2011 they pretty much had a lock on the plugin market along with Waves which is where their strong reputation comes from.

Today there are dozens of plugins that can do similar things, arguably even better.

I did buy the bundle years ago and don't regret it. However Echoboy is really the only plugin that I would buy if Soundtoys was new. I never understood the crazy hype over Decapitator/their saturation algos, it's slightly above average at best. To me Softube does saturation a lot better.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, if it was a common issue I figured I would have seen something here. Maybe it has something to do with my entire DAW being blocked from the internet.

 

You need to open the SoundToy plugin in your DAW, enter the serial number there, and then log into your SoundToy account. So, you can't use it without an internet connection to your DAW. Of course, you can install another DAW in addition.

 

I get that you dislike iLok. I dislike the software version immensely. Not the hardware version though.
I found there were several things I needed to do a really good paying job quite a while back. I did not want to have to go online every time I loaded something. That sucks.
So I bought a USB-C iLok hardware key. No online crap = NADA once on the key. A one-time addition to the key. None of the multiple verifications everyone is talking about. So every time a freebie comes in, I get it, register it, add it and is there forever on the key no matter what happens to the computer (screenshot blurred on purpose). It also doesn't interfere with any witchery either and vice-versa. I do not have to be online to use any of them. When recording I am not anyway.
