Hi Guys,

I am really thinking about buying soundtoys with their 249 usd price down nowadays. I made some research on forums and youtube about their plugins. Some says their plugins are old plugins some says they are great. I would like to hear your suggestion about Soundtoys if you are a user of it. I am planning to use them for EDM genre tracks.

They are quite good, but not really actively developed much and there's quite a few alternatives. Why not do a trial?

The last release was Audiotopia in 2016 so I wouldn't hold my breath for a new one. I haven't had any issues aside from Effects Rack being too old to load 3rd-party preset banks (you can kind of get around it, but it's a pain)

 

I will also do trial but also wanted to hear user's experiences and suggestions... Thank you

 

Oh but they are VERY active developed. I'm in beta testing program currently using version beta 5.4.2 and I can tell you more features and new stuff is in the making.
Definitely worth buying with BF price!

 

I still find this suite sounding better than most others "all in one" suites AND workflow is nice too.

Some important point :
Soundtoys primary sound come from their SATURATION stages.
Yes, there is an output saturation even on delay, EQ ...

So if you want the "soundtoys sound" only, not especially "functionality", buying Decapitator only and using it on non-Soundtoys plugins is a good option.

It depends on your other plugins : do they "cross" with soundtoys suite or not ?

 

when I bought it I'd already gotten a couple of the plugins for very cheap or practically free in their yearly sales which drastically reduced the overall price (it has been years though so ymmv)

it does feel dated now but was always a must have collection because of its versatility

 

I use the cracked versions, they're great AND they donate a little money to good causes.

 

I once bought the entire package for $149 , I got an electricity bill so high that now I can't afford anything

Soundtoys plugins sound great, I use them constantly. Decapitator and Echoboy mainly, but the rest also is top notch. Just very musical plugins imo. Maybe you could do with just Effect Rack? It contains:

Important Note: Effect Rack does not include individual plug-ins, and not all Soundtoys effects are in the Rack - Little AlterBoy, Little Plate, Little PrimalTap, Little MicroShift and Little Radiator are NOT included in the Effect Rack.

 

I'd probably wait until Jan 2. Then buy them. Worth it, as long as you get a good enough price on them. For some genres of EDM, i'd use Decapitator on almost every track. Alterboy you will use a lot. Radiator is good, but you can use the free version of it; and also the plate reverb. Echoboy is nice but that can be substituted for also.

if Decap was $50 bucks i'd buy just that and call the rest a day. There are other plugins you can sub for them. But I would use them all if I had them.

Worth every penny. Support these guys - they deserve it.

Edit: To be more specific, LittleAlterBoy (creepiest name ever), Effect Rack, PanMan, MicroShift, Decapitator - use them all the time for random utility and creative purposes.

 

EchoBoy has been my go-to delay for almost a decade, but I'd never buy it for 200$, but now I bought for 49$, and got free the EchoBoyJr., that's also great. The other plugins from ST are also great.
